To kick the new year and new decade off right, Cascadia is pleased to announce our inaugural “Cascadia Cares Campaign!” During the holidays, donations for people and their pets experiencing homelessness pour in. Sadly, though, during the rest of the year, donations decrease dramatically. Given this and the devastating rise in homelessness in the Pacific Northwest, the first Cascadia Cares Campaign will focus on homelessness. During the months of January and February 2020, we are partnering with local organizations such as Mary’s Place, Facing Homelessness, Seattle Homeless Outreach, and Real Change to collect items and monetary donations to help them with the amazing and tireless work they do to alleviate homelessness and help people and pets experiencing homelessness in the Pacific Northwest.

Here’s how the Cascadia Cares Campaign will work and how YOU can be involved!

  • During the months January and February, if you are able to, please bring in one or more item(s) from this list (please bring only NEW, UNUSED, and UNOPENED items) or a monetary donation that will go towards Mary’s Place, Seattle Homeless Outreach, Facing Homelessness, Real Change, and other local homelessness organizations.
  • For each donation you bring in, you will receive a promo code for a $25 credit for any upcoming available workshop when you register for the workshop in January or February (the workshop can be in the future – you’ll just need to register in January or February for the credit to be applied).
  • Each donation will be counted as an entry into a drawing for $100 gift cards and $100 donations in your name to one of the local organizations working on the issue of homelessness in the Puget Sound area.
  • You can donate more than once, and each donation will earn you a $25 off credit for any available upcoming workshop if you register during the months of January or February.
  • The drawings will be held at the Clinical Supervision Workshop on February 28th. You do not need to be present at the workshop. The winners will be contacted if they are not present.
  • If you are attending any workshops during the months of January and/or February, you can bring your items or money to donate to the workshop(s) with you. We will be collecting donations at each of our workshops at each workshop location during January and February.
  • If you are not attending any workshops during January or February but still want to donate to receive a promo code for $25 off a workshop and be entered into the drawing, you can bring your items or money for donation to our Shoreline office (18560 1st Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155) on any Friday during the months of January or February.
  • You can also mail items or checks to Cascadia Training c/o Brian Andersen at 1122 E Pike St., #1355, Seattle, Washington 98122.
  • If you mail or drop off items or checks, please be sure to include your full name, email address, and phone number.

Here is the list of items suggested for donation. (please bring only NEW, UNUSED, and UNOPENED items)

Please let us know if you have any questions, and as always, thank you for being such a valued participant at Cascadia workshops. We look forward to having our very first Cascadia Cares Campaign to be a smashing success thanks to your generosity and giving spirit! Together, we can make a huge difference in the lives of those people and pets experiencing homelessness and support the organizations that do so much to help them and the issue of homelessness in the Pacific Northwest.
