Amber Rice (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, facilitator, educator, speaker, writer, and activist. Amber has been a mental health provider for over 25 years, with her roots in social work and non-profit, community-based services. Amber’s areas of specialization include trauma, disordered eating, body shame, and embodiment. Her Seattle-based private practice serves clients from around the world. Amber supports her clients in coming home to their bodies.
Her counseling framework is highly relational and informed by social justice, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and radical self-compassion models. Amber is an AAMFT Approved Clinical Supervisor, a Body Trust Provider. She provides clinical supervision, education, and training to other therapists on topics including countertransference, sizeism, and anti-fat bias in the helping professional fields. Amber is committed to the decolonization of mental health services through engaging providers in conversations around the intersection of body size as an area of marginalization and encouraging weight-inclusive practices.
