Michael Lillie LMFT, MHP, is a Marriage & Family Therapist and Psychotherapist in private practice in Tacoma, WA. He specializes is chronic traumatization, dissociative disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, grief & loss, spiritual & religious trauma, and the integration of spirituality and psychotherapy particularly the Christian faith. Outside of his psychotherapy practice Michael offers spiritual direction. He is currently working to integrate spiritual direction with Japanese Tenkara Fly Fishing and Orthodox Hesychastic Prayer.
Michael works from a Psychodynamic-Attachment lens integrating Ego State Therapy, Structural Dissociation, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Systemic-Family Systems Theory. He believes that working with parts of the personality to increase integration allows a safe and consensual approach to healing trauma.
His approach is collaborative while at the same time structured and directive. He believes this allows clients to move toward a higher level of stability and freedom in their healing process.
As a presenter Michael enjoys a more interactive, participation based experience, where clinicians can not only learn theory but apply that theory to their current work.
