Continuing Education Workshop Description:
Trauma affects the mind, body, and relationships, shaping how clients experience safety, trust, and connection. This continuing education training introduces psychotherapists to the principles of trauma-informed therapy, focusing on creating a therapeutic environment that recognizes and responds to the pervasive impact of trauma. Participants will explore strategies for fostering safety, supporting emotional regulation, and avoiding re-traumatization, while enhancing engagement and therapeutic alliance.
Through case examples, discussion, and practical exercises, attendees will learn how to implement trauma-informed approaches in assessment, treatment planning, and clinical interventions. Therapists will leave with tools to recognize trauma responses, support resilience, and create a therapeutic space that promotes healing, empowerment, and client well-being.
Continuing Education Workshop Objectives:
- Develop an understanding of the core principles and practices of trauma-informed therapy.
- Learn strategies for creating safety, fostering trust, and supporting emotional regulation in clients impacted by trauma.
