Stress seems ubiquitous these days, impacting almost everyone. Chronic stress is especially damaging, as it leads to both physical and emotional harm. Yet all is not lost! The goal of this training is for you to learn a multitude of ways to manage stress that you can share with your clients. The tools presented are evidence-based, practical, and easily taught to clients–who can then start to implement them immediately.

We’ll start by exploring the signs and symptoms of stress, what is going on physiologically in the body, and the physical and psychological effects of chronic tension. Next, you’ll learn a wide variety of stress management tools, including cognitive-behavioral strategies, the 4 A’s; mindfulness; breathing techniques; somatic practices; and guided imagery. You’ll also explore the use of aromatherapy, as well as the role of diet.

Stress can be generated via interpersonal relationships, so we will explore how to change those dynamics. In particular, we’ll examine the positive impact that boundary work can have on reducing stress.

Shifting gears, you’ll learn helpful time-management strategies and stress-reducing organizational skills that will help clients tame the material chaos and overwhelm that stress often creates.

In the end, attendees will learn that stress management should become a way of life. What you learn in this training will allow your clients to reduce or eliminate their stress and become more resilient and hopeful.

This training will be experiential and interactive. Please be sure to have a notebook on hand.
