Anger in women is often misunderstood, dismissed, or pathologized, yet it can be a powerful signal of boundaries, injustice, and unmet needs. This training helps psychotherapists understand the complexities of women’s anger, including its social, cultural, and relational influences, and how it can be harnessed as a transformative force in therapy.

Participants will explore ways to normalize, validate, and work ethically with anger while supporting clients in expressing it constructively and safely.

Through discussion, case examples, and experiential exercises, attendees will learn therapeutic strategies to help clients recognize their anger, understand its origins, and channel it into empowerment and growth. Therapists will leave with tools to navigate challenging emotions, foster self-advocacy, and guide clients in integrating their anger in ways that support healing, assertiveness, and personal agency.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Develop an understanding of the social, cultural, and psychological dimensions of anger in women.
  • Learn strategies to help clients recognize, validate, and express anger safely and constructively.
  • Identify therapeutic interventions that transform anger into empowerment, assertiveness, and personal growth.
