“Therapeutic Neuroscience: A Brain-Based Approach to Cognitive & Somatic Treatment of Common Mental Health Disorders”

Learn Pertinent Brain Systems & Structures and Describe Their Practical Application to Clinical Work. Are you ready to have an experience that will transform your approach to therapy and enhance your current practice?  Cascadia Training is now offering a certificate program that will deepen and add to your experience and education as a clinician while also bolstering your confidence in implementing brain-based cognitive and somatic strategies.  Attending this certificate program retreat and training will improve your treatment outcomes and offer your clients the ability to self-regulate and truly transform their quality of life!

As a provider of mental health treatment, it remains critical to continue your educational journey to stay abreast of the current and ongoing advances in our understanding of brain physiology and the resulting awe-inspiring advances in assessment and treatment. Beyond being a requirement of most licensure boards, research shows improving practitioner competence decreases burn-out and increases job satisfaction!  Please join us for this condensed training program described as practice-transforming, as well as being personally rewarding for clinicians who describe the contents as truly life-altering.

One of the hottest trends in the mental health field today incorporating new neuroscience and brain-based research and guided neuroplasticity into clinical practices and mental health treatment. You have heard of these interventions and research, but it feels daunting, especially as your days are already jam-packed as they are.  You want to learn more, but you can’t imagine adding one more thing to your day.  We have an answer!!!

We are proud to introduce Cascadia’s brain science certificate weekend! Designed to take no more time from your standard work week than any other CEU course, with a combination of a Thursday evening, all day Friday, and a Saturday morning, this certificate program will give you an in-depth training in both theory and application of modern neuroscience, as well as practical skills and proven techniques in both cognitive and somatic approaches.  All of this cutting-edge education and practice-enhancing skills and research will be presented in an engaging, interactive, and easy-to-understand manner.

Here’s what the registrants of our certificate program/retreat can expect:

Day One: Lay a foundation of therapeutic neuroscience to understand pertinent brain functions and systems (Thursday evening)

Day Two:  Delve deeper to connect brain systems to clinical presentations and learn somatic methods for effective treatment (Friday, all day)

Day Three: Conclude the training with an overview of neuroscience-informed cognitive approaches to treating mental health issues (Saturday morning)

Objectives:

  • Identify & Examine the Neurological Processes Underlying Common Mental Health Disorders, Such as Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorders & Trauma.
  • Relate Specific Dysfunctional Behavioral Presentations to Associated Brain Functions to Improve Diagnosis & Pinpoint Effective Treatment Modalities
  • Apply Current Cognitive-based (ACT, CBT, IFS), Mindfulness-based (DBT, MBT), & Somatic-based (EFT, Expressive Therapies) Theories with Neuroscience-informed Insights to Improve Treatment Trajectory & Outcomes
  • Evaluate the Differences between Amygdala-based and Cortex-based Symptoms
  • Apply Proven Strategies for Calming and Training/Retraining the Amygdala.
  • Convey Difficult Science Terms & Concepts in Understandable, Client-friendly Manner
