The connection between what we eat and how we feel is powerful – yet often overlooked in psychotherapy. Emerging research highlights the role of nutrition, gut health, and lifestyle patterns in influencing mood, energy, and emotional regulation.
This training introduces psychotherapists to the foundations of the food–mood connection, helping clinicians recognize how dietary habits may impact mental health. Through discussion and practical strategies, participants will learn how to talk with clients about food and mood in a supportive and ethical way without stepping outside their scope of practice.
Note: This training does not provide nutritional certification but equips therapists with tools for collaboration and psychoeducation.
Workshop Objectives:
- Develop an understanding of the relationship between nutrition, gut health, and mental health.
- Learn ways to introduce food–mood awareness into therapy sessions while staying within ethical scope of practice.
- Identify practical strategies to support clients in building mindful, balanced eating habits that promote emotional well-being.
