Continuing Education Workshop Description:

Polyvagal Theory provides a framework for understanding how the nervous system influences emotion, behavior, and relational connection.

This continuing education workshop introduces psychotherapists to the core concepts of Polyvagal Theory, including the roles of the ventral vagal, sympathetic, and dorsal vagal states in shaping clients’ experiences of safety, stress, and connection. Participants will explore how nervous system regulation impacts emotional and relational patterns in therapy.

Attendees will learn strategies for noticing physiological cues, supporting regulation, and applying polyvagal-informed interventions in clinical practice. Therapists will leave with tools to help clients attune to their bodies, enhance emotional regulation, and strengthen their capacity for safety, connection, and resilience.

Continuing Education Workshop Objectives:

  • Develop an understanding of the core principles of Polyvagal Theory and how nervous system states influence emotion and behavior.
  • Learn strategies for recognizing physiological cues and supporting clients’ nervous system regulation in therapy.
  • Identify ethical ways to integrate polyvagal-informed interventions into clinical practice to enhance safety, connection, and resilience.
