What if the key to healing wasn’t eliminating distressing thoughts and emotions, but learning to listen to the different parts of ourselves with curiosity and compassion? Parts work, rooted in approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Ego State Therapy, helps clients understand their inner conflicts, heal wounded parts, and cultivate greater self-integration. This introductory training will provide you with a foundational understanding of parts work, exploring its theoretical roots, ethical considerations, and practical applications in therapy. Through experiential exercises, case discussions, and guided practice, you will gain hands-on skills to help clients access and work with their internal parts in a safe and empowering way.
OBJECTIVES:
- Develop an understanding of the foundational concepts behind parts work, including Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Ego State Therapy.
- Learn ethical considerations and best practices for safely introducing parts work into therapy.
- Identify common client presentations where parts work can be particularly beneficial, such as trauma, self-criticism, and internal conflicts.
- Practice guiding clients through parts-based interventions to foster self-awareness, internal harmony, and emotional healing.
