Continuing Education Workshop Description:

This continuing education workshop offers an introductory yet comprehensive overview of Cluster B personality disorders—Antisocial, Borderline, Histrionic, and Narcissistic—for mental health professionals.

Participants will deepen their understanding of the diagnostic features, clinical presentations, and interpersonal challenges associated with these disorders. Through case studies, video demonstrations, and reflective questions, the course explores evidence-based assessment tools, including the DSM-5 Level of Personality Functioning Scale, and examines key treatment approaches such as DBT, CBT, and schema therapy.

The workshop also highlights cultural considerations and the importance of therapeutic boundaries, transference, and countertransference when working with this population. Designed to equip clinicians with practical strategies and ethical awareness, this training supports effective and compassionate care while promoting clinician resilience in challenging treatment contexts.

• Identify the four Cluster B personality disorders and their associated diagnostic features and clinical presentations.
• Discover methods and tools for assessing Cluster B disorders.
• Describe at least three treatment approaches and recommendations for working with individuals who have a Cluster B personality disorder.
