This 15-hour live virtual training fulfills the Washington State requirement for becoming an approved clinical supervisor. Participants will engage in a transformative learning experience rooted in queer, decolonial, and intersectional frameworks.
The course examines power, privilege, and systemic inequities that shape both supervision and clinical practice. Designed for mental health professionals who want to offer affirming, anti-oppressive supervision, this course provides the practical tools and critical insights necessary for effective, ethical, and equity-informed supervisory relationships.
The training includes information about required documentation and professional ethics, ensuring participants meet the legal and regulatory standards while engaging in liberatory, reflective supervision practices.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
– Apply WA State legal and ethical requirements to clinical supervision.
– Identify and address power dynamics and systemic oppression within supervision relationships.
– Evaluate ethical dilemmas, including dual relationships, through nontraditional and liberation-based frameworks.
– Demonstrate supervision techniques such as reframing, self-disclosure, and externalization.
– Develop a personal supervision framework aligned with anti-oppressive practice.
