Our earliest relationships shape the way we connect with others throughout our lives. Attachment theory offers a powerful lens for understanding how clients’ early experiences influence their emotional and relational patterns. This introductory training explores the four primary attachment styles—secure, anxious, avoidant, and disorganized—and their impact on mental health and relationships. You will gain insight into how attachment dynamics play out in therapy, learning to identify your clients’ attachment styles and tailor interventions to support healing and growth. Through case studies, practical exercises, and real-world examples, you will leave with effective tools for helping your clients build stronger, more secure connections with themselves and others.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Develop an understanding of the four primary attachment styles and their impact on emotional regulation and relationships.
  2. Learn how attachment styles manifest in therapeutic settings and how to identify them in clients.
  3. Identify common challenges clients with different attachment styles face and explore tailored interventions to support healing.
  4. Practice applying attachment-informed strategies to strengthen the therapeutic alliance and promote healthier relational patterns in clients.
