Workshop Description:

As a clinician, you may need a DSM-5 “tune-up” – going back to the basics to review some of the major content areas and psychiatric disorders. This workshop will focus on major content areas of the DSM-5, including a review of key disorders, criteria, and differential diagnosis.  Ethical frameworks for mental health professionals will be reviewed, and there will be interactive discussions on case scenarios and ethics.  This training will enhance your knowledge of the disorders, criteria, and chapters of the DSM-5 while providing thoughtful, ethical discussions.

Workshop Objectives:

  1. Identify three different ethical standards around the DSM-5 relating to diagnosis.
  2. Summarize considerations regarding differential diagnosis.
  3. List at least five psychiatric disorders within the DSM-5 and three of their criteria.
  4. Describe at least four anxiety disorders and their corresponding criteria.
  5. Identify three neurocognitive disorders and their associated features.
  6. Analyze case examples and ethical discussion on the DSM-5 disorders and diagnosis.
