Kristie Baber, MSW, LICSW, CCTP, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from Duke University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Washington. Kristie is a Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist and a Children’s Mental Health specialist and holds a post-graduate certification in Adoption and Foster Care Therapy.

Kristie has been a practicing clinician for over 20 years. In addition to running a private practice, she was the lead clinical social worker at the largest neurodevelopmental center in Washington. She has taught at public health organizations, mental health agencies, and child welfare divisions as a field and classroom instructor at the UW.
School of Social Work has trained professionals at national conferences, including the Child Welfare League of America, the Division of Early Childhood, and the National Indian Child Welfare Association.

Since its inception, Kristie has sat on the Advisory Board for the UW’s post-graduate Psychological Trauma Certificate program. She is proud to have created the CHERISH Infant Mental Health Program, now utilized throughout neurodevelopmental centers in Washington and Alaska to serve our littlest foster children. Kristie is a published author with articles in Fostering Families Today, Adoption Today, and Pique magazines and a contributing author to the Virginia Dept of Family Services personnel training curriculum. While living abroad, Kristie continues to
teach and train in her field.
