However\, many clinicians are reluctant to become supervisors due to legal and ethical liability concerns.  These concerns are often increased by a lack of accurate information about the true risks of liability faced by supervisors. \nThrough direct instructions\, presentation of real-life scenarios\, and group discussions\, participants will understand the fundamentals of supervision best practices to improve their effectiveness and skill as clinical supervisors. \nThis three-day\, 15-hour supervision workshop is designed to meet the training requirements for Washington State Approved Supervisors.\nObjectives:\n• Identify and assess sources of significant liability in supervision; \n• Construct effective strategies for creating a sound supervision agreement; \n• Describe key conceptual frameworks for supervision; \n• Compare various theoretical approaches to supervision; \n• Contrast various types of supervisory relationships; \n• Examine the benefits between group and individual supervision settings; \n• Summarize the legal and ethical regulation of supervision; \n• Maximize supervisor\, supervisee\, and client success through supervision structure; \n• Integrate regulation and practice to provide quality supervision documentation. \nPayment Options\nCascadia Training values quality continuing education that is accessible\, inclusive\, and without barriers to all. SUMMARY:💲SPECIAL SALE!💲Pleasure in the Treatment Room 🆕
DESCRIPTION:💲Last-Minute Deal! $50 Off!💲\nBrand-New!\nMeets Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, Cultural Competence\, and/or Professional Roles & Boundaries Continuing Education Requirements!\nPleasure in the Treatment Room\nPresented by Rebecca Bloom\, LMHC (she/her)\nWhen: Friday\, October 9th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 6 CEs (meets criteria for 2 Law & Ethics\, 3 Health Equity or Cultural Competence CEs\, and/or 2 Professional Roles & Boundaries CEs) | Cost: $199.00 Now Only $149.00!\nContinuing Education Workshop Description:\nHow do we talk about pleasure in the treatment room? Do you feel comfortable talking with your clients about intimacy? How do we talk about what we desire and what we want to say “No” to? In this 6-CE continuing education workshop\, we will explore all of this and more — using the most current research and writings on Sex Therapy as the foundation for the workshop. \nOver the past twenty-five years\, Rebecca’s clinical work has centered on helping adult survivors of complex trauma reclaim safety\, agency\, and connection after profound experiences of betrayal and harm. Much of this work has involved sitting with the realities of developmental trauma\, attachment wounds\, and the long-lasting effects of abuse perpetrated by trusted individuals. \nAs the presenter begins integrating intimacy and couples counseling more intentionally into my practice\, she has become increasingly aware of how essential conversations about pleasure\, embodiment\, and desire are within trauma treatment. Our clients often learn how to endure\, protect\, and disconnect long before they are given permission to explore what feels good\, nourishing\, or truly wanted—to discover what brings them pleasure. \nRebecca’s theoretical foundation has been strongly informed by post-graduate training and completion of Levels One and Two at the Sensory Psychotherapy Institute. Using this sensory-informed approach during the workshop\, we will explore safe ways for your clients to discuss what their bodies and minds want most—what is pleasurable to them. \nWe will take time to really look at human physiology and how each of our parts work. This approach emphasizes mindfulness\, nervous system awareness\, and the importance of tracking bodily experience as part of healing. \nWhen clients begin to slow down through mindfulness and sense perception\, they often discover that they have limited experience identifying what they genuinely want. By helping clients attend to sensory experiences in the present moment\, therapists can support the development of curiosity\, self-trust\, and emotional regulation. This process creates space for clients to recognize preferences\, boundaries\, pleasure\, and longing in ways that may have previously felt inaccessible or unsafe. \nWe will also explore issues that complicate desire. The most common topics among these that come up in the treatment room include nonmonogamy\, kink\, how our bodies work\, pornography\, family systems and beliefs\, and societal messaging. \nRather than approaching intimacy solely through cognition or narrative processing\, helping clients remain grounded and present in their bodies creates opportunities for deeper self-understanding and relational connection. Embodied awareness can become a pathway not only toward healing trauma\, but also toward cultivating intimacy that feels authentic\, consensual\, and alive. \nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives:\nLearning Goals for “Pleasure in the Treatment Room”: \n\nDefining pleasure and intimacy.\nDiscovering psychosocial aspects of desire\, gender\, and kink.\nUnderstanding medical conditions that impair sexual functioning.\nComprehending common sexual challenges in relationships.\nExploring issues regarding the use of pornography.\nUnderstanding contemporary models for treatment of sexual problems.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credits: CEs: 2 Law & Ethics CEs | $65.00\nARE YOU IN BREACH OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL ETHICS?\nYou have spent your entire professional career securing and storing medical records and ensuring your clients’ confidentiality. What happens to these records when you retire\, become disabled\, or die? \nDid you know that even if you die\, your estate could be held responsible for malpractice complaints and legal actions brought about by your failure to anticipate your demise? \nFor psychologists\, your Code of Ethics dictates that you are expected to “make reasonable efforts to plan for facilitating services in the event that psychological services are interrupted by factors such as the psychologist’s illness\, death\, unavailability\, relocation\, or retirement…” The same ethical mandate applies to Mental Health Counselors\, Marriage and Family Therapists\, and Social Workers. \nThis workshop provides information and examples of how to prepare for such a situation – creating a Professional Will and identifying a Professional Executor to handle the legal and ethical details necessary to protect yourself and your practice. If something happens to you\, you need a similarly licensed professional (not your spouse or child) to deal with your clients/patients\, confidential records\, office leases\, obtain releases\, make referrals\, etc. In addition\, your clients/patients will likely need help in their grieving and necessary transition to another therapist. \nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence CEs | Cost: $199.00 NOW ONLY $149.00!\nMorning Session: Kinky Sex Ed for Clinicians (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM\, Pacific) \nIn graduate school\, many programs offered a very limited education on human sexual development. The topics covered were largely typical\, normative experiences. This type of education leaves out so many other ways of being and leaves large gaps in our education about alternative ways of engaging with sex and relationships.  Both sessions of this one-day workshop–Kinky Sex Ed and Poly 101–are intended to help fill the gaps in clinical education and understanding. The goal is that the clinicians who attend will be more fully informed\, more inclusive in their approach\, and better able to support clients with “non-normative” sexual identities and experiences.  Kink refers to any sexual interest or behavior that is outside what is considered normative. Research indicates that many people have explored kinks at some point in their lives\, with many people having a kink as a core component of their sexual experiences. This course will identify common kink terms\, concepts\, and identities so that the clinicians who attend can better support kinky-identified clients. \nObjectives:\n\nLearn how kink is defined and connected to social constructs of normativity\nHave a basic understanding of common kink identities\nLearn basic kink terms and cultural norms\nKnow the differences between and among kinks\, fetishes\, and BDSM\nExplore how kinks develop and change over time and sexual development\nDefine healthy and ethical kink\nIdentify ethical concerns in kink culture\n\nAfternoon Session: Poly 101 for Clinicians (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)\nIn graduate school\, many programs offered a very limited education on human sexual development\, and the topics covered were largely typical\, normative experiences. This type of education leaves out so many other ways of being and leaves large gaps in our education about alternative ways of engaging with sex and relationships. Kinky Sex Ed and Poly 101 are both intended to help fill the gaps in clinical education and understanding so that clinicians can be more informed and able to support clients with “non-normative” sexual identities and experiences. The socialization that prioritizes monogamy starts very early in Western culture\, with messages about faithfulness\, loyalty\, jealousy\, and love all being inexplicably intertwined. The reality is that–for many people–monogamy simply doesn’t work well for them. This course will explore key terms and concepts of Ethical Non-Monogamy (ENM) and how to offer support to our clients in the clinical setting. \nObjectives: \n\nLearn monogamous and non-monogamous relationship types\nExplore basic terms and concepts of ethical non-monogamy (ENM)\nIdentify the role of monogamy culture on all relationship types\nDefine the differences between envy\, jealousy\, and trauma responses when navigating ENM\nUnderstand common ethical concerns in ENM\nIdentify the benefits associated with non-monogamous relationship dynamics\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:💲SPECIAL SALE!💲 Beyond Answers: Strengthening Our Client’s Inner Compass through Ancient Runes 🆕
DESCRIPTION:💲Last-Minute Deal! $50 Off!💲\nBrand-New!\nLaw & Ethics\, Health Equity\, and Cultural Competence CEs!\nBeyond Answers: Strengthening Our Client’s Inner Compass through Ancient Runes\nPresented by: Kylani St. Clair\, LMHC\, CCTP\, RYT\nWhen: Friday\, October 23rd\, 2026 | 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 3 CEs -counts as Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence | $99.00 NOW ONLY $49.00!\nContinuing Education Workshop Description:\nAmbivalence and uncertainty are common sources of distress for many clients\, who often look to therapists for answers\, reassurance\, and confirmation that they are making the “right” decision. Although psychotherapy cannot eliminate life’s ambiguities\, it can help clients cultivate something even more enduring: an inner compass rooted in self-trust\, personal values\, and meaningful reflection. \nThis experiential continuing education workshop introduces clinicians to the Elder Futhark rune system as an ancient symbolic framework for facilitating deeper therapeutic reflection and meaningful dialogue. Rather than using runes for prediction or divination\, participants will learn to incorporate their symbolism into psychotherapy as a client-centered tool for cultivating intuition\, exploring values\, constructing meaning\, and strengthening clients’ capacity to navigate uncertainty. Throughout the training\, runes are presented as one historical symbolic tradition that can support reflection\, not as a system of universal truth or prescribed belief. \nParticipants will experience the same reflective exercises they may later facilitate with clients\, gaining firsthand insight into the therapeutic process before integrating these interventions into clinical practice. Clinicians will learn practical strategies for incorporating rune symbolism into treatment while maintaining ethical practice\, cultural humility\, and respect for each client’s worldview. \nParticipants will leave with practical interventions they can adapt to a variety of clinical populations\, along with a deeper understanding of how symbolic facilitation can foster self-discovery\, meaning-making\, and confidence in the face of life’s uncertainties. The foundations of Jungian psychotherapy were built with instruments like mythology\, dreams\, archetypal symbols\, and ancient hieroglyphs. Jung regarded runes as a vital tool in “shaping one’s identity and life’s narrative\,” with a unique ability to connect our unconscious with our conscious (Samuels\, 1986; Stein\, 2021). \nRather than helping clients search for certainty\, clinicians will learn to foster greater self-trust\, reflection\, and confidence in navigating life’s inevitable ambiguities—empowering clients to access the wisdom they already possess. Jung highlighted the therapist’s role in psychotherapy as supporting patients in their own journey of “seeking deeper self=understanding” rather than providing simplistic yes-or-no answers. \nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives\n\nDescribe the historical origins\, cultural context\, and traditional use of the Elder Futhark rune system.\nDifferentiate the therapeutic use of runes from divination practices while maintaining appropriate ethical boundaries and scope of practice.\nExplain how rune symbolism can facilitate intuition\, values exploration\, meaning-making\, and clients’ ability to navigate uncertainty.\nObserve therapeutic techniques for incorporating runes into psychotherapy to facilitate reflection\, insight\, and meaningful dialogue.\nApply ethical principles\, cultural humility\, and health equity considerations when introducing rune-based interventions.\nDevelop practical strategies for incorporating rune-based interventions into treatment while honoring client autonomy\, informed consent\, and individual worldviews.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕 BRAND-NEW! Un-Masking Certificate Series: A Non-Pathologizing Approach to Neurodivergence 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New Certificate Series!\nHealth Equity\, Cultural Competence\, and/or Law & Ethics CEs!\nUn-Masking Certificate Series: A Non-Pathologizing Approach to Neurodivergence\nPresented by: Hannah Smith\, MA\, LMHC\, CGP\nWhen: Monday\, November 4th – Monday\, November 30th\, 2026 | 4-Week Series | Meets Four Consecutive Mondays except Monday\, November 16th | 9:00 am – 12:15 pm Pacific Time (same time each Monday)\nWhere: Live on Zoom. One may not know if a client is neurodivergent (ND). As ND people often do not see themselves as needing to be “fixed\,” they may not feel certain treatment approaches and/or vocabulary apply to them – and yet they are in our offices seeking help. Many self-diagnose\, and there are as many presentations of neurodivergence as there are neurodivergent people. How do we conceptualize working with this population? \nOne approach is to de-center the neurotypical classification of behavior as the primary issue and focus treatment instead on the identification and remediation of associated trauma. Sadly\, trauma and Neurodivergence often go together\, and one of the primary results of this is masking. \nMasking is the compensatory strategy many ND people develop to manage social expectations. This skill initially allows them to “fit in” better. Over the long term\, though\, the masking takes a huge toll and most often results in extreme mental and emotional fatigue\, chronic and extreme emotional dysregulation\, exacerbated learning difficulties\, and frightening and isolating trauma responses. \nIn this in-depth continuing education certificate series\, the presenter will discuss what it means to be non-pathologizing in more depth\, demonstrating the need to expand beyond the medical model. Social justice aspects of neurodivergence will be explored\, and a tool that enables a better conceptualization of self than the current “diagnosis” model will be taught and practiced. Then\, several methods to streamline addressing various neurodivergent differences will be shared and applied to case situations and in-session work groups. \nThis series is for anyone who took the survey course and wants more.  The survey course is NOT a requirement. If you’re ready to firm up your repertoire of skills working with Neurodivergent clients by learning a new tool you will find nowhere else\, then you’re in the right place! \nCONTINUING EDUCATION WORKSHOP SERIES OBJECTIVES:\n\nDescribe what it means to be “Non-pathologizing\,” including the benefit of the beyond-medical approach\, the power of resonance\, and the strength of the “pivot” in helping clients reach their fullest potential\nDescribe the specific neurodivergent-trauma that impedes agency and compounds anxiety\, depression\, shame\, and trauma responses\nExplain how certain social justice issues apply and can be addressed both within the medical model and in a non-pathologizing way.\nList and describe the ten domains of Neurodivergence\nCreate a self-map using the 10-Domain tool\nIdentify areas and degrees of masking and create treatment plans to address them\, determining approaches of accommodation versus adaptation\nExplore the concept of agency\, including how to build agency in clients\, in order to enhance self-efficacy and promote positive outcomes\nUse a 3-step Framework approach to addressing neurodivergence that will help clients reduce frustration and clarify direction in daily life\nApply new learning to case studies and real-time practice\n\n***PAYMENT OPTIONS\nCascadia Training values quality continuing education that is accessible\, inclusive\, and without barriers to all. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 3 CEs | $90.00\nContinuing Education Workshop Description:\nParts work offers clinicians a powerful framework for helping clients understand the different internal states\, roles\, and protective strategies that shape their emotional lives. Tarot cards\, with their rich visual imagery\, archetypal themes\, characters\, and symbolic landscapes\, can provide a creative way to make these internal experiences more visible and accessible. Rather than using tarot for prediction or divination\, therapists can invite clients to engage with the cards as projective and expressive images through which they can identify\, externalize\, and develop greater curiosity toward different parts of themselves. \nThis experiential continuing education workshop introduces practical ways to integrate tarot card imagery into parts-oriented psychotherapy. Participants will explore interventions for identifying and representing parts\, understanding the intentions and fears of protective parts\, facilitating dialogue between conflicting parts\, accessing internal resources\, and supporting greater cooperation and integration within the client’s internal system. Attention will also be given to trauma-informed pacing\, client autonomy\, cultural and spiritual sensitivity\, and ethical considerations when incorporating tarot imagery into clinical practice. \nNo previous experience with tarot or parts work is required. \nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives:\nUpon completion of this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nDescribe at least three ways tarot card imagery can facilitate the identification\, externalization\, and exploration of parts within psychotherapy.\nApply at least three tarot-based interventions for exploring protective roles\, internal conflicts\, unmet needs\, and internal resources within a parts-work framework.\nIdentify at least three clinical and ethical considerations for integrating tarot card imagery into parts-oriented psychotherapy\, including client consent\, cultural and spiritual sensitivity\, and trauma-informed pacing.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Reaching the Inner Child: Using Integrated\, Brain-based Internal Family Systems Therapy to Treat Trauma and Personality Disorders\nPresented by: Hannah Smith\, MA\, LMHC\, CGP\nWhen: Thursday\, November 5th\, 2026 | 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM\n\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 6 CEs | $190.00 \nContinuing Education Workshop Description:\nModern neuroscience has provided us with valuable and targeted information to help in understanding and healing the traumatized brain\, including those with severe developmental trauma who later end up with “personality disorder” diagnoses. \nUnfortunately\, much of this valuable information remains abstract and out of reach to those doing the actual work of trauma treatment. \nThis workshop will address these issues by combining insights from neuroscience with an evidence-based treatment approach known as Internal Family Systems. \nInternal Family Systems is a treatment modality created in the 1980s by Dr. Richard C. Schwartz. Trained as a couples and family therapist\, Dr. Schwartz realized the same dynamics he found in family systems also presented within individuals. His work reveals the brain’s natural ability to create different parts\, known as Managers\, Firefighters\, and Exiles\, to protect the core\, undamaged self. His theory is non-pathologizing\, allowing us to see “diagnoses” as “strategies” and recognizing the protective nature of the “Internal Family.” Using modern brain science and these well-established concepts\, we can isolate and treat the “Inner Child” – those parts that carry traumatic memory – more effectively. \nIn this dynamic\, experiential session\, you will learn the underlying framework of Internal Family Systems from both traditional and neuroscience-informed perspectives\, allowing for greater understanding of yourself and your client and providing higher precision in therapeutic work. By applying narrative and imagery-based techniques in real time\, you will incorporate what is known about brain processing into your work\, enabling you to reach “the Inner Child” more efficiently and safely. Attendees will grow in their practical understanding and application of neuroscience to help reduce shame\, increase client engagement\, improve outcomes\, and – as an added bonus – reduce clinician burnout! \nCONTINUING EDUCATION WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES: \n• Consider Internal Family Systems (IFS) structure and techniques from both traditional and neuroscience-informed perspectives\n• Apply a non-pathologizing treatment model to reduce shame and increase client ability to grow and change.\n• Use “Externalization of Parts” and other somatic\, imagery- and analogy-based techniques to develop the concept of the “Inner Child” to promote experiences that create new neural connections that lead to lasting change and healing\n• Learn techniques to teach internal communication and self-compassion and define and measure success in more effective ways\n• Communicate modern neuroscience principles of neuroplasticity\, mentalization\, and somatic responding as they relate to IFS and the “Inner Child” in a user-friendly manner\n• Apply newly learned skills in real-time to build competency and confidence as a practitioner \nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Youth and Adult Suicide: Recognition\, Assessment\, and Treatment of Suicidality
DESCRIPTION:This workshop meets the suicide assessment requirements for re-licensure.\nYouth and Adult Suicide: Recognition\, Assessment\, and Treatment of Suicidality\nPresented by: Randi Jensen\, MA\, LMHC\, CCDC\nWhen: Friday\, November 6th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 CEs | $199.00\nThis workshop meets the Washington State suicide assessment requirements for re-licensure. The Washington State Department of Health has approved this 6-hour workshop for its 2022 Model List. This workshop also satisfies the continuing education requirements set by the Department of Health related to suicide assessment\, management\, and treatment.\nHistorically\, mental health treatment for suicidal individuals has involved extensive psychopharmacology\, repeated cognitive behavioral therapy\, positive psychology methods\, stress reduction exercises\, and/or deep therapy into family-of-origin issues\, all proven individually insufficient for the long-term prevention of suicide and suicidality. \nThe World Health Organization (2019) reported decreasing trends in suicide mortality in most countries across the world. Unfortunately\, the mortality of suicide showed an increasing trend in the United States. Between 2000 and 2018\, the suicide rate skyrocketed\, increasing by a whopping 35% (CDC\, 2020). Interestingly\, during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic\, between 2020 and 2021\, there was a decrease in suicide rates. This was short-lived\, unfortunately\, as suicide rates began to increase again by 2% in 2022 (CDC\, 2022). \nWhat can we do? As clinicians\, we need to understand there are many roads to suicidality — each usually requiring individual intervention. \nThis workshop presents original concepts in the development of suicidality as an ingenious coping mechanism that develops over time. The brain’s neuroplasticity forms neural pathways that underpin the reinforcing suicidal thought pattern. Brain retraining provides the formation of new healthy neural pathways. The healing process is directed\, encouraged\, and supported through a specifically designed peer protocol based on existing evidence-based social support. \nResearch shows that the first suicide attempt is often the first time anyone intervenes. However\, it is generally not the first time the danger has been known. Loved ones just don’t know what to do. They take the suicidal individual to a hospital or professional where the treatment protocol has not changed for decades. When the suicidal individual comes home after the attempt\, family and friends don’t know how to help prevent the next one. The Jensen Suicide Peer Protocol (JSP3)\, based on evidence-based principles\, is a prescribed method for the family members and concerned others to take an active part in the recovery of their loved one. Randi has used this method for decades and has saved lives. \nOBJECTIVES:\n• Describe the extent of suicide in the general and special populations\, including children\, adolescents\, and military personnel.\n• Distinguish what suicidality is and the difference between self-harm and suicidality\n• Explain the psychobiology of suicidality and its progression\n• Articulate warning signs and symptoms using simple and effective suicide assessment tools\n• Express and practice Motivational Interviewing techniques used in counseling suicidal individuals\n• Explain a life-saving peer support protocol and how to implement it\n• Describe ethical considerations\, documentation\, and confidentiality issues. \nThe Washington State Department of Health has approved this 6-hour workshop for its 2022 Model List. This workshop also satisfies the continuing education requirements set by the Department of Health related to suicide assessment\, management\, and treatment. \nRandi consistently receives excellent evaluations from attendees of her workshops. Here are just a few quotes from past attendees:\n*  “I took a different class about suicide a few months back. It was so heavy with content and so focused on how to cross every “T” and dot every “I” that I actually left more anxious about treating suicidal clients than before. In contrast\, Randi’s workshop gave me a broader general understanding and a way to connect the clinical skills I already have to the treatment of these clients. I feel much more confident and competent working with suicidal clients now.” \n* “Ms. Jensen is an extremely competent clinician and presenter. Over my 30+ career in mental health work\, this is one of the very best workshops I have attended. Thank you\, Cascadia and Randi!”  \n* “This is the most impactful continuing education class I’ve ever taken!” \nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:Now $100 Off! Becoming a Neurodivergent-Affirming Clinician: Understanding ADHD and Autism through a Strengths-Based\, Neurodivergent-Affirming Lens
DESCRIPTION:Now $100 Off!\nLaw & Ethics\, Health Equity\,\nand Cultural Competence CEs!\nBecoming a Neurodivergent-Affirming Clinician: Understanding ADHD and Autism through a Strengths-Based\, Neurodivergent-Affirming Lens\nPresented by: B Lourenco\, MA\, LMHC\nWhen:  This continuing education workshop series will be held for three consecutive days: Thursday\, November 12th\, through Saturday\, November 14th\, from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific / 12:00 pm – 7:30 pm Eastern\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the event.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 18 CEs (12 CEs can be used for Cultural Competence or Health Equity CEs\, and 6 can be used for Law & Ethics CEs) | Was $599.00 – NOW ONLY $499.00! *** (see below for payment options)\nAs technology advances and mental health education becomes increasingly available\, the population has become more self-aware. The world is changing quickly\, and with it\, more and more people realize that their brains work differently from others. \nDue to the influence of social media and the shift to focusing on lived experience as a legitimate means of diagnosis\, we are seeing a sudden increase in clients who identify as Autistic and/or an ADHDer. We find that clients are speaking up and finding validation of what they have always known: their brains operate differently from the brains of their peers\, colleagues\, friends\, and families. As a result\, we are seeing a sudden increase in the young adult and middle-aged population who identify as being Neurodivergent in a Neurotypical world. \nThis continuing education workshop series is designed to help clinicians build greater awareness and familiarity with ADHD and Autistic experiences. Participants will come away from this course with a deeper understanding of ADHD and Autism from the Neurodiversity-Affirming Paradigm that focuses on strengths and differences\, not diagnoses\, disorders\, and deficits. \nEspecially following the COVID pandemic and its sometimes long-term impact on the brain and the immune system’s inflammatory processes\, many clients report having different and often challenging sensory processing experiences. We are seeing more adults presenting in our offices reporting that they now have issues not only with taste and smell but also with a range of visual\, hearing\, tactile\, balance\, and internal bodily sensations they never experienced before\, as well as difficulties with attention and memory. This begs the question: have these brain differences always been there\, or have they now been sensitized or magnified by exposure to COVID and months-long isolation? \nMany adults are now recognizing they are not alone and are demanding that they not be dismissed or invalidated any longer\, often having experienced the continued frustration of providers questioning their own lived experiences and\, as a result\, having been either undiagnosed or underdiagnosed due to outdated and debunked diagnostic criteria still used by mainstream psychiatrists and physicians. These individuals are finding validation for what they have long suspected: their brains work differently from those of their peers\, families\, and friends. \nWith new research available and an increasingly empowered clientele\, we see more than ever the need to remain current in our understanding of–and support for–those who have brain differences. Committed to blending cutting-edge scientific evidence with the lived experiences of our clients\, Cascadia Training is delighted to offer a new workshop series designed to help clinicians build greater awareness and familiarity with ADHD and Autistic experiences. \nUpon completion of this series\, participants will have a deeper understanding of ADHD and Autism through the Neurodiversity Affirming Paradigm\, which focuses on strengths and differences\, not disorders\, diagnoses\, or deficits! \nWoven throughout the series are the law and ethics of working with neurodivergent clients\, including the danger of misdiagnoses\, and the harm of using biased\, outdated\, debunked diagnostic criteria leading to the underdiagnosis of ADHD and Autism spectrum experiences. In addition\, participants will learn about and identify pathologizing\, stigmatizing\, and harmful treatment protocols and clinical interventions still utilized by providers in educational\, physical\, and mental health professions. \nThis series uses a system developed explicitly by B Lourenco\, an expert on ADHD and Autism. The course focuses to a large degree on the internal\, lived experience of neurodiversity. Each of the six weekly sessions will include a didactic portion\, an experiential section\, and direct case consultation time. All modules will include lecture\, video\, and experiential segments. \nCertificate Program Daily Modules \nDay One:   \n\nSensory Systems  – Getting in touch with the sensory system is the most critical step in supporting neurodivergent clients. Sensory information can regulate emotional and physical experiences. In addition\, we will focus on using sensory profiles\, menus\, and diets to support day-to-day quality of life.\nCommunication and Relationships – Understanding how those with Autism and ADHD communicate creates room for therapeutic connection. With this understanding\, we will dive into tools for managing meltdowns and shutdowns in an affirming way.\n\nDay Two:   \n\nAttending and Executive Function – This module will explain why those with Autism and ADHD face challenges attending to their environment by addressing social expectations on perceptions of “functioning.” You will also learn how to use the client’s natural rhythms to support positive functionality.\nSocial Systems and Disability – Understanding how society directly impacts the lives of people with disabilities. We will focus on how clinicians can incorporate advocacy into their practice and tools to unlearn neurotypical values by connecting clients to personal values.\n\nDay Three: \n\nDifferentials and Comorbidities – This module will teach participants how to rule out or “dial in” on other mental health concerns or diagnoses. We will present comorbidities that exist with your neurodivergent clients and how to effectively support them in a non-stigmatizing way. The role of trauma and grief in the lived experience of clients who identify as neurodivergent will be discussed\, as well as the impact of these events on the developing brain. We will process how to best support the grief and disenfranchised losses felt by our autistic and ADHD clients and their families.\nThe Use of Joy As a Tool Against Oppression. Creating celebrations of being neurodivergent and finding joy in everyday life as we partner with our neurodivergent clients. The Neurodivergent-affirming certificate program series will conclude with various celebrations we can share with our clients and the shift to viewing “joy itself as a tool against oppression.” As clinicians\, it is important for us to first comprehend–and then share– the ways that society benefits from neurodiversity in general and ADHD and Autism\, in particular. We will conclude by learning ways to help our clients celebrate their neurodiversity and see themselves through an affirming\, strengths-based lens.\n\nOther topics that will be covered in this practice- and life-altering certificate program series include\, but are not limited to: \n\nAlexithymia and Dysthymia\nARFID\nMisophonia\nGender and sexuality in the ADHD and Autistic communities\nThe role of menstruation on ADHD and Autistic brains\nInterdependence vs codependence and/or independence\nMyths and stigmas about neurodivergent people\nExperiences of abuse in neurodivergent people\nPervasive Desire for Autonomy (PDA)\n\n***Payment Options:\nCascadia Training values quality continuing education that is accessible\, inclusive\, and without barriers to all. We never want the cost of our workshops to be a barrier to attending one of our workshops\, particularly our multi-session workshops. \nWe offer several options to make our workshops cost-inclusive: payment plans\, a limited number of full and partial scholarships\, discounts for students\, and discounts for early professionals. Rather than prediction\, the focus is on meaning-making\, narrative identity\, relational patterns\, and insight development. Astrology is presented as a structured symbolic language that can support depth-oriented exploration when used collaboratively and with client consent. \nDrawing from qualitative research conducted with licensed clinicians who integrate astrology into therapy\, this training explores clinical indications\, contraindications\, informed consent processes\, scope of practice\, and cultural humility. Participants will examine how astrology can function as a reflective tool that enhances therapeutic alliance\, supports client agency\, and facilitates nuanced conversations about identity and life transitions. \nThis workshop emphasizes ethical integration\, client autonomy\, and practitioner self-awareness. Astrology-Assisted Therapy is presented as a coherent symbolic modality that can be integrated within existing therapeutic orientations to expand conceptualization and deepen relational work. \nWorkshop Objectives:\nBy the end of this workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify foundational astrological structures\nConceptualize astrology as a structured symbolic framework\nApply ethical guidelines for integrating astrology into clinical practice\nDiscern appropriate clinical contexts for AAT use\n\nThis continuing education workshop is ideal for clinicians seeking to expand their use of spiritually integrative\, culturally responsive\, and symbolically informed approaches within professional practice. \nREGISTER HERE\n  \n
