SUMMARY:🆕 Brand-New! The Major Arcana and the Hero’s Journey: Discovering Your Story Through Tarot 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nMeets Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence Continuing Education Requirements!\nThe Major Arcana and the Hero’s Journey: Discovering Your Story Through Tarot\nPresented by Rebecca Bloom\, LMHC (she/her)\nWhen: Friday\, July 17th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 CEs (meets criteria for 2 Law & Ethics and 2 Health Equity or Cultural Competence CEs) | Cost: $199.00\nEvery person is on a journey — one of becoming\, healing\, and finding meaning. The Major Arcana of the Tarot offers a beautiful reflection of this path. These 22 cards tell the story of the Hero’s Journey: the universal process of growth and transformation that mirrors each of our lives. Jung’s model of the hero’s journey is a path that clients can easily relate to in their own lives. In this workshop\, you’ll explore how the Tarot can help clients connect with their path through difficult times. \nThe Major Arcana begins with The Fool\, who takes a leap of faith into the unknown\, and ends with The World\, symbolizing a completed journey. Between these two cards lies the full range of human experience — discovery\, love\, loss\, challenge\, renewal\, and awakening. Each card helps clients reflect on how they learn\, heal\, and grow. \nWorking with these archetypes can help clients who recognize that the transformation is possible and that setbacks are part of the journey. Perhaps you are navigating a “Tower” moment of upheaval\, meeting your “Shadow” in The Devil\, or beginning a new chapter as The Fool once more. Through the imagery of the Tarot\, you will help clients to see their story not as fragmented or confusing\, but as meaningful — a necessary part of an unfolding journey toward wholeness. \nDuring this experiential workshop\, you’ll be guided through meditations\, creative exercises\, and creating Tarot cards. \nTarot\, when used in this way\, is not about prediction; it’s about reflection. It’s a way of accessing unconscious wisdom — the part of you that already knows what healing and integration look like. Jung described this process as individuation: the journey of becoming your fullest\, most authentic self. \nThrough the language of the Major Arcana\, you can learn to trust this inner process\, honor the changes you’re experiencing\, and view your challenges as meaningful steps along your path. Whether you are seeking clarity\, self-compassion\, or a deeper sense of purpose\, the Tarot offers a gentle\, creative way to reconnect with your own story — the myth you are living and the hero you are becoming. \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nRecognize how the Hero’s Journey helps clients on their healing journey\nUnderstand the lessons of the major arcana through a therapeutic lens\nGain confidence in using tarot in clinical settings.\nHelping clients reconnect with intuition\, purpose\, and inner guidance\nExplore art making for self-care\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕BRAND-NEW! Lunch & Learn: Threat Analysis: Improving Self-Regulation with Practical Brain Science 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nLunch & Learn: Threat Analysis: Improving Self-Regulation with Practical Brain Science\nPresented by: Hannah Smith\, MA\, LMHC\, CGP\nWhen: Monday\, July 20th\, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM\, Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\n\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 1.5 CEs | $25.00\nYou will be hard-pressed to find a client in therapy that does not deal with anxiety\, and we all know the rate of people going to therapy for trauma treatment has been significant for some time. \nThen\, we have neurodivergent people who have steadily activated nervous systems we often diagnose as anxiety disorders\, especially social anxiety. \nIn any case\, the results of dysregulation can be destabilizing\, making people feel as if they are under threat\, which could lead to relational issues or cause them to miss out on their lives. \nBut what if it didn’t have to be this way? \nWith advances in our understanding of modern neuroscience and within the framework of Interpersonal Neurobiology\, we now recognize that there are two major neural pathways to nervous system activation\, each indicating a different type of threat. The key is to learn to detect the type of activation occurring and to respond appropriately to each. \nIn this session\, you will learn the science behind these two paths to dysregulation and an easy method to help show clients so they\, too\, can choose the right set of responses to whatever “present moment” situation they find themselves in\, resulting in more effective responses and less overall fear and activation. \nImagine!  A reduction in general\, separation\, and social anxiety! Improved outcomes in trauma when it’s not exacerbated by ongoing fear responses.  If you want to contribute to these outcomes\, this will be an hour well spent! \nWORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:\n\nIdentify and describe the neuro-biological systems involved in nervous system dysregulation\nExplain the two paths to activation\, why they occur\, and the appropriate responses to each\nApply a method to help clients tell the difference between the two paths so they have more buy-in for doing the work of self-regulation\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:Enneagram and Internal Family Systems (IFS): Working with Our EnneaTypes and Our Parts
DESCRIPTION:Enneagram and Internal Family Systems (IFS): Working with Our EnneaTypes and Our Parts\nPresented by: Dr. Jennifer Manlowe\nWhen: Thursday\, July 23rd\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live via Zoom (you’ll receive the link the week of the workshop)\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 CEs | Cost: $190.00\nWorkshop Description:\nBoth Internal Family Systems (IFS) and the Enneagram have been used to gather people eager to understand and work with troubling thoughts\, feelings\, and behaviors\, and to do so on a deeper level than “Talk Therapy” alone. \nIn this continuing education workshop\, we will explore how both schools of thought intersect to inspire harmony of mind-body-emotion in our clients and ourselves. \nAfter attending this workshop\, you’ll be on your way to understanding the basics of the Enneagram as a Wisdom Tradition and the fundamentals of IFS as a psychotherapeutic model (developed in the 1990s). \nYou’ll see that both schools of thought work to map out parts or sub-personalities within us—each with its own thoughts\, motivations\, and behaviors eager for transformation. For instance\, with the Enneagram\, there are “three centers of intelligence\,” and in IFS\, there are three categories of parts: managers\, firefighters\, and exiles. Meeting and interviewing these parts has the power to foster freedom from old ideas of self and others. \nReturning to what Enneagram calls our essence or “higher self” and leaning into what IFS calls “Self-Energy” will be explored. Tripartite awareness practices will be shared. \nThe Enneagram is a personality typing test with nine distinct types of people. Like parts\, each type has its own core fears\, desires\, and motivations. When translated\, this symbol offers a psychospiritual model for growth that can be used by health professionals\, coaches\, and spiritual directors to gain self-awareness about patterns in clients’ (and our own) relationships. \nBoth the Enneagram and IFS methods can give us valuable insights into why our clients do the things they do and how to unmask and transform harmful behaviors in a curious\, compassionate\, and nonjudgmental way. \nWhether you’re looking to understand yourself better as a helping professional\, strengthen your skills with your clients\, or cultivate growth through tri-partite awareness (mind-body-heart) work\, both models provide tools that will deepen insights and help you along the way. \nWORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:\nBy the end of the workshop\, you’ll be able to assist your clients in finding an integrative approach on their path to healing by first: \n\nIdentify the general healing frameworks of Enneagram Wisdom and Internal Family Systems\nUse Enneagram Wisdom as a method for “mapping” our IFS parts\nDistinguish the systemic origins of one’s EnneaStyle (an intersectional approach)\nUncover how to work with your clients’ (and your own) disowned “parts”\nGain insight into how EnneaStyles and IFS parts can evolve with compassionate curiosity\nBuild a bridge from your preferred therapeutic models to your newfound Ennea and IFS Insights\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Youth and Adult Suicide: Recognition\, Assessment\, and Treatment of Suicidality
DESCRIPTION:This workshop meets the suicide assessment requirements for re-licensure.\nYouth and Adult Suicide: Recognition\, Assessment\, and Treatment of Suicidality\nPresented by: Randi Jensen\, MA\, LMHC\, CCDC\nWhen: Friday\, July 24th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 CEs | $199.00\nOther 2026 Sessions:\n\n\nFriday\, November 6th\, 2026: MORE INFO & REGISTER>>>\n\n\nThis workshop meets the Washington State suicide assessment requirements for re-licensure. The Washington State Department of Health has approved this 6-hour workshop for its 2022 Model List. This workshop also satisfies the continuing education requirements set by the Department of Health related to suicide assessment\, management\, and treatment.\nHistorically\, mental health treatment for suicidal individuals has involved extensive psychopharmacology\, repeated cognitive behavioral therapy\, positive psychology methods\, stress reduction exercises\, and/or deep therapy into family-of-origin issues\, all proven individually insufficient for the long-term prevention of suicide and suicidality. \nThe World Health Organization (2019) reported decreasing trends in suicide mortality in most countries across the world. Unfortunately\, the mortality of suicide showed an increasing trend in the United States. Between 2000 and 2018\, the suicide rate skyrocketed\, increasing by a whopping 35% (CDC\, 2020). Interestingly\, during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic\, between 2020 and 2021\, there was a decrease in suicide rates. This was short-lived\, unfortunately\, as suicide rates began to increase again by 2% in 2022 (CDC\, 2022). \nWhat can we do? As clinicians\, we need to understand there are many roads to suicidality — each usually requiring individual intervention. \nThis workshop presents original concepts in the development of suicidality as an ingenious coping mechanism that develops over time. The brain’s neuroplasticity forms neural pathways that underpin the reinforcing suicidal thought pattern. Brain retraining provides the formation of new healthy neural pathways. The healing process is directed\, encouraged\, and supported through a specifically designed peer protocol based on existing evidence-based social support. \nResearch shows that the first suicide attempt is often the first time anyone intervenes. However\, it is generally not the first time the danger has been known. Loved ones just don’t know what to do. They take the suicidal individual to a hospital or professional where the treatment protocol has not changed for decades. When the suicidal individual comes home after the attempt\, family and friends don’t know how to help prevent the next one. The Jensen Suicide Peer Protocol (JSP3)\, based on evidence-based principles\, is a prescribed method for the family members and concerned others to take an active part in the recovery of their loved one. Randi has used this method for decades and has saved lives. \nOBJECTIVES:\n• Describe the extent of suicide in the general and special populations\, including children\, adolescents\, and military personnel.\n• Distinguish what suicidality is and the difference between self-harm and suicidality\n• Explain the psychobiology of suicidality and its progression\n• Articulate warning signs and symptoms using simple and effective suicide assessment tools\n• Express and practice Motivational Interviewing techniques used in counseling suicidal individuals\n• Explain a life-saving peer support protocol and how to implement it\n• Describe ethical considerations\, documentation\, and confidentiality issues. \nThe Washington State Department of Health has approved this 6-hour workshop for its 2022 Model List. This workshop also satisfies the continuing education requirements set by the Department of Health related to suicide assessment\, management\, and treatment. \nRandi consistently receives excellent evaluations from attendees of her workshops. Here are just a few quotes from past attendees:\n*  “I took a different class about suicide a few months back. It was so heavy with content and so focused on how to cross every “T” and dot every “I” that I actually left more anxious about treating suicidal clients than before. In contrast\, Randi’s workshop gave me a broader general understanding and a way to connect the clinical skills I already have to the treatment of these clients. I feel much more confident and competent working with suicidal clients now.” \n* “Ms. Jensen is an extremely competent clinician and presenter. Over my 30+ career in mental health work\, this is one of the very best workshops I have attended. Thank you\, Cascadia and Randi!”  \n* “This is the most impactful continuing education class I’ve ever taken!” \nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕 BRAND-NEW! Lunch & Learn: ADHD's Hidden Risk: Toxic Relationships and Clinical Interventions 🆕
DESCRIPTION:BRAND-NEW!\nHealth Equity or Cultural Competence Continuing Education Credits (CEs)\nLunch & Learn: ADHD’s Hidden Risk: Toxic Relationships and Clinical Interventions\nPresented by: Kate Mageau\, MA\, LMHC\nWhen: Monday\, July 27th\, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM\, Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved CEs): 1.5 Health Equity or Cultural Competence CEs | $25.00\nContinuing Education Workshop Description\nIntimate partner violence (IPV) affects nearly one in three people worldwide\, and it is frequently overlooked in neurodivergent populations. Adults with ADHD are 2.5 times more likely to experience IPV\, yet the specific neurological and psychological mechanisms behind this elevated risk are rarely addressed in clinical training. Equipping clinicians to recognize the signs of IPV in this population is a matter of client safety. \nThis continuing education workshop provides a comprehensive\, evidence-based framework for understanding why ADHD brains are neurologically and psychologically vulnerable to toxic relationship dynamics. Clinicians will explore the specific ADHD traits that create relational vulnerability\, the neuroscience of why clients stay\, and evidence-based treatment approaches particularly well-suited to the ADHD-IPV intersection\, including ACT\, narrative therapy\, and feminist-informed psychoeducation. Attendees will leave equipped to recognize relationship vulnerability patterns\, understand the neurological barriers to leaving\, and support ADHD clients who are at risk of being in a toxic or abusive relationship. \nPresenter’s emphasis on culture and intersectionality: This continuing education workshop centers intersectionality as a core clinical framework. Prevalence data on BIPOC populations are woven throughout\, including racial disparities in ADHD diagnosis. \nWhite individuals are 26% more likely to receive an ADHD diagnosis than Black individuals\, meaning BIPOC ADHDers are disproportionately undiagnosed and unsupported. Black\, American Indian and Alaska Native\, and Hispanic and Latina women all experience disproportionately high rates of IPV\, compounded by medical mistrust\, systemic barriers\, and discrimination when seeking help. \nLGBTQ+ populations are addressed explicitly\, including elevated ADHD prevalence in transgender adults\, IPV rates of 61% in bisexual women and 54% in transgender and non-binary people\, the 44% of LGBTQ+ survivors denied shelter services\, and how abusers may weaponize homophobia and transphobia\, including threats of outing as tools of control. \nThis workshop uses gender-neutral language throughout\, including gender-neutral pronouns\, reflecting the reality that ADHD and intimate partner violence affect people of all genders and that clinicians serve clients across the full spectrum of gender identity. Clinical examples and research cited throughout reflect diverse gender identities\, sexual orientations\, and racial and ethnic backgrounds. \nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives:\n\nDiscuss the neurobiological and psychological mechanisms by which ADHD increases vulnerability to intimate partner violence.\nApply this framework to recognize relationship vulnerability patterns in ADHD clients.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Let’s Talk About Sex
DESCRIPTION:Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence CEs\nLet’s Talk About Sex\nPresented by B Lourenco\, MA\, LMHC (she/her)\nWhen: Thursday\, September 10\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live via Zoom (you’ll receive the link the week of the workshop)\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competency CEs | Cost: $199.00\nResearch shows that if sex isn’t brought up in the first three therapy sessions\, it is unlikely to ever come up in the therapy space. \nA large majority of clinicians don’t know how to talk to their clients about sexuality and\, subsequently\, aren’t able to help their clients with issues about their sex lives. Many clinicians also believe that conversations about sex are out of their scope of practice\, and while this is true in rare cases\, it’s usually not true. \nEvery single person has a relationship with sexuality\, whether they are asexual or very sexually experienced. Everyone we work with as therapists has a relationship with their sexuality. \nDiscussing sexual health is well within our scope as clinicians! It is ethically mandated for clinicians to continue learning and growing so we can offer the best and most tailored support to our clients. \nThat need has prompted the creation of this workshop\, NOT Your Mom’s Sex Ed Class! \nSocialization teaches us that everyone is cis-gender\, hetero\, and monogamous. Everyone is taught that certain sexual behaviors are “normal” and others are “not.” These norms are echoed in the education systems that clinicians are trained in. Because of the shame-filled way our society treats sexuality\, most folks have a complicated relationship with it. \nWe can serve the entire person when we choose to include conversations about sex and sexual health with our clients. \nThis course will go over the basics of human sexuality and anatomy\, including sexual and gender identities\, as well as the roles of desire\, arousal\, and libido. This course will explore types of sexual dysfunction commonly experienced by clients and how to know if a referral is needed. In addition\, this course will identify ways that all clinicians can become more informed and sex-positive with everyday clients. \nObjectives:\n\nLearn the process of expected sexual development over the lifetime\nIdentify sex organs and their functions\nReview gender and gender identities\nReview sexual identities\nDifferentiate between types of arousal\, desire\, and variations in libido\nExplore concepts about sex/porn addiction vs. out-of-control sexual behaviors\nIdentify the role of society in determining sexual norms and expectations\nDefine the impact of expectation of sexual normativity\nExplore common non-normative identities and behaviors\nLearn common types of sexual dysfunction experienced by everyday clients\nDistinguish the role of attachment wounds and trauma on sexual experiences\nIdentify when a referral to a sex therapy specialist is needed\nUnderstand the basics of sex-positive therapy and how to explore sexual topics with clients\nLearn common types of sexual dysfunction experienced by everyday clients\nDistinguish the role of attachment wounds and trauma on sexual experiences\nIdentify when a referral to a sex therapy specialist is needed\nUnderstand the basics of sex-positive therapy and how to explore sexual topics with clients\nDiscuss ethical best practices around client sexuality and identify possible misdiagnoses due to clinician misinformation\nExplore how cultural norms impact sexual attitudes and perpetuate stigmatizing myths\nIdentify the ethics that mandate we provide culturally sensitive and inclusive clinical practices\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:Death Planning and Acceptance: Breaking Down Stigma and Fear with Clients
DESCRIPTION:Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, and Cultural Competence CEs!\nDeath Planning and Acceptance: Breaking Down Stigma and Fear with Clients\nPresented by: Kylani St. Clair\, LMHC\, CCTP\, RYT\nWhen: Friday\, September 11\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 6 CEs -2 count as Law & Ethics and 2 count as Health Equity or Cultural Competence | $190.00\nContinuing Education Workshop Description:\nWhen a client says “The thought of my family dying keeps me up at night\,” or “I’m terrified of death\,” a clinician tends to have their own moment of fear or hesitation. Sometimes we don’t know how to respond\, what we’re “allowed” to say\, what we can offer without activating our own countertransference\, or we’re afraid to broach the cultural/religious beliefs. As a society\, we used to be more comfortable with death\, literally and figuratively. Not long ago\, we were planning for the inevitable much earlier in life. We even displayed the deceased in our living rooms for mourners to visit- sometimes for a week or more! The U.S. has especially stigmatized death and it’s palpable in our sessions. That existential dread and anxiety that sometimes leads to panic attacks and depressive episodes often has death at the core. \nFurther\, grief and loss are often compounded when we don’t know what the deceased person wanted\, how to pay for after-death services\, and contacting the people who need to be informed. For example\, do you know if your partner wants to be cremated or buried? Is it important to you to be buried in another state? If so\, do you know what the protocols are for being transported across state lines? Do you have enough money to pay for what the service the deceased wanted? If we don’t have these conversations in our personal lives\, how can we hold space for them with our clients? \nIn this continuing education workshop\, we will break down some of the barriers to discussing death. We will learn about the process of dying\, identify laws and regulations to navigate options\, and de-stigmatize death. We’ll navigate the how\, what\, when\, and why of these conversation in session and how to continue the conversations at home. Throughout this process\, you will ease your own countertransference about death\, making death planning and acceptance with clients more meaningful. \nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives: \n\nReduce existential dread and anxiety regarding death.\nReduce levels of depression seated in despair about death.\nNavigate clinical history at a multicultural level\, providing both clients and clinicians with options for how to handle their own death\, burial\, funeral\, etc.\n Share artifacts and resources for various death professionals.\nApply cultural\, religious\, and familial traditions.\n Identify differences between tradition types. Explore learner’s experiences. Identify any countertransference and how to hold space for it during session. Practice self-disclosure.\nRevisit Kubler-Ross’ stages of grief and introduce David Kessler’s Needs of the Dying affirmations.\nDiscuss pre-grieving\, second-grieving\, disenfranchised grief\, and normalize the process of grief.\nImprove client advocacy via communication and understanding rights.\nPractice communication around goals\, desires\, needs for end-of-life care\, including\, but not limited to\, funeral and burial details.\nModel the practice self-advocacy via the “Caregiver’s Bill of Rights\,” including gaining a thorough understanding of laws and regulations around death and dying.\nNavigate grief and loss\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT): Tapping for Clinicians
DESCRIPTION:Law & Ethics CEs!\nEmotional Freedom Techniques (EFT): Tapping for Clinicians\nPresented by: Shelley White\, MA\, LMHC\nWhen: Monday\, September 14th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 12:15 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 3 Law & Ethics CEs | Cost: $99.00\nEmotion Freedom Techniques (EFT) – also known as EFT Tapping –has become a widely accepted\, effective\, evidence-based strategy to reduce emotional distress and increase physical well-being. Many prominent therapists and psychologists\, including trauma expert Bessel van der Kolk\, use a form of tapping with their clients\, and now you can too. \nEFT Tapping is a technique based on the same science as acupuncture. Since its inception in the late 1980s\, more than 200 research studies supporting its effectiveness have been published. Studies show that Tapping can reduce activity in the amygdala\, up-regulate immune genes\, down-regulate inflammation genes\, increase endorphin release\, and decrease cortisol levels in a very short period of time. Tapping has demonstrated its effectiveness in a variety of ways. It has been shown to increase test scores\, manage phobias\, and reduce pain. Tapping helps with trauma symptoms by safely releasing emotional numbing\, calming fears of vulnerability and connection\, reducing the need to be perfect\, and quieting shame. This workshop provides you with the introductory skills you need to start using basic tapping techniques immediately. \nIn addition to learning how to help clients with this evidence-based intervention\, attendees will also learn how to include Tapping as a technique in their own self-care toolkit. Listening to our clients’ fears\, stress\, anxiety\, and pain can affect our ability to stay calm\, centered\, and peaceful in our own lives. Our self-care is crucial to our ability to offer quality care to our clients\, which is why it is an ethical mandate in the mental health professions. Tapping can help you stay focused and present for your clients and help you to release any intense energy you may be holding after a therapeutic session. \nThrough observation\, lecture\, and practice\, workshop attendees will learn the history of tapping and understand the psychology and science behind its success. Attendees will learn and practice the basic Tapping protocol\, so you will be able to use EFT with your clients—and in your own self-care– immediately. Come earn 3 law & ethics CEs by learning this effective self-regulatory tool—for you AND your clients! \nWorkshop Objectives:\nAfter attending this workshop\, attendees will: \n\nUnderstand the history and origins of EFT Tapping and know that it works by using the same acupressure points and meridians that are used in acupuncture. Understand EFT/Tapping offers an effective\, evidence-based intervention and can easily be introduced into a clinician’s ongoing self-care practice.  (NASW\, 2021; ACA\, 2014; APA\, 2019)\nComprehend that self-care adds to their clinical competency and adheres to the ethical mandate to include self-care in their daily lives to avoid impairment in functioning (NASW\, 2021; ACA\, 2014; APA\, 2019).\nLearn how to introduce Tapping into the therapeutic setting\, communicating with clients about the purpose and use of EFT/Tapping in ways that are both developmentally and culturally appropriate\, aligning with the ethical imperative of informed consent. (NASW\, 2021\, 1.03\, 1/05; ACA\, 1.03\, 2014.)\nUnderstand that EFT Tapping is an evidence-based intervention and be able to discuss positive outcomes from using tapping to increase calm and reduce anxiety\, to improve concentration\, and decrease high blood pressure. EFT Tapping can be used for both sensory/physical and emotional self-regulation.\nObtain continuing education in EFT/Tapping and gain experience in using EFT/Tapping by practicing in triads and following the various protocols for using EFT/Tapping. (APA\, 2019; AMHCA\, 2020; ACA\, 2014; NASW\, 1.03\, 2021).\nLearn that EFT/Tapping ensures the ethical principles of client autonomy and client self-determination by offering an easy-to-use\, effective\, ethical\, and evidence-based technique clients can learn and use on their own to manage physical and/or emotional symptoms (AAMFT\, 1.1.8\, 2015; NASW\, 1.02\, 1.03\, 2021; ACA\, 2014\, 1.; APA\, 2019).\nDemonstrate their ethical compliance with the ethical and legal standards that mental health practitioners work toward competency when introducing a new treatment or clinical skill. (ACA\, 2014; NASW\, 2019; AAMFT\, 1.1.2\, 2015).\nUnderstand how to explain EFT/Tapping in clear and understandable language to their clients\, demonstrating their adherence to ethical standards when introducing a new clinical tool or technique. SUMMARY:🆕 BRAND-NEW! Ethics of Somatic Therapies: Boundaries\, Consent\, and Scope of Practice 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nMeets Professional Roles & Boundaries or Law & Ethics CE requirements!\nEthics of Somatic Therapies: Boundaries\, Consent\, and Scope of Practice\nPresented by: Dreya Blume\, LCSW\nWhen: Monday\, Septemer 28th\, 2026 | 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 3 CEs – counts as Professional Roles & Boundaries or Law & Ethics CEs | $99.00\nSomatic therapies are increasingly integrated into psychotherapy as clinicians seek ways to address trauma\, stress\, and emotional regulation through the body. However\, incorporating body-based interventions raises important ethical questions related to professional boundaries\, informed consent\, cultural sensitivity\, and the scope of practice. \nThis continuing education workshop explores the ethical use of somatic approaches within psychotherapy\, helping clinicians thoughtfully integrate body-oriented techniques while remaining aligned with professional standards of care. Together\, we will examine common ethical dilemmas that arise when working with breath\, movement\, grounding exercises\, and other somatic practices\, particularly regarding touch\, power dynamics\, trauma sensitivity\, and client autonomy. \nThe workshop will provide practical guidance for obtaining meaningful informed consent\, documenting somatic interventions\, and recognizing when referrals or additional training are necessary. Through case examples\, reflective discussion\, and ethical decision-making frameworks\, clinicians will strengthen their ability to incorporate somatic awareness into therapy while protecting client safety and maintaining clear professional boundaries. \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nDefine key ethical considerations involved in integrating somatic therapies into psychotherapy\, including issues related to boundaries\, consent\, and scope of practice.\nIdentify potential ethical risks and clinical dilemmas that may arise when using body-based interventions such as breathwork\, grounding exercises\, or movement practices.\nDescribe best practices for obtaining informed consent and maintaining clear therapeutic boundaries when incorporating somatic techniques into clinical work.\nApply ethical decision-making frameworks to determine when somatic interventions are appropriate within a clinician’s scope of practice and when consultation\, referral\, or additional training may be necessary.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕 BRAND-NEW! After Hours with Cascadia: Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Tapping for Clinicians 🆕
DESCRIPTION:BRAND-NEW!\nLaw & Ethics Continuing Education Credits (CEs)\nAfter Hours with Cascadia: EFT Tapping for Clinicians\nPresented by: Shelley White\, MA\, LMHC\nWhen: Tuesday\, October 6th\, 2026 | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM\, Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved CEs): 2 Law & Ethics CEs | $50.00\nContinuing Education Workshop Description\nEmotion Freedom Techniques (EFT) – also known as EFT Tapping –has become a widely accepted\, effective\, evidence-based strategy to reduce emotional distress and increase physical well-being. Tapping has been shown to increase test scores\, manage phobias\, and reduce pain. Tapping helps with trauma symptoms by safely releasing emotional numbing\, calming fears of vulnerability and connection\, reducing the need to be perfect\, and quieting shame. This workshop provides you with the introductory skills you need to start using basic tapping techniques and to teach your clients immediately. Our self-care is crucial to our ability to offer quality care to our clients. Tapping can help you stay focused and present for your clients and release any intense energy you may be holding after a therapeutic session. \nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives\nAfter attending this workshop\, attendees will: \n1. Comprehend that self-care adds to their clinical competency and adheres to the ethical mandate to include self-care in their daily lives to avoid impairment in functioning (NASW\, 2021; ACA\, 2014; APA\, 2019). \n2. Learn how to introduce Tapping into the therapeutic setting\, communicating with clients about the purpose and use of EFT/Tapping in ways that are both developmentally and culturally appropriate\, aligning with the ethical imperative of informed consent. (NASW\, 2021\, 1.03\, 1/05; ACA\, 1.03\, 2014.) \n3. Understand that EFT Tapping is an evidence-based intervention and be able to discuss positive outcomes from using tapping to increase calm and reduce anxiety\, to improve concentration\, and decrease high blood pressure. EFT Tapping can be used for both sensory/physical and emotional self-regulation. \n4. Learn that EFT/Tapping ensures the ethical principles of client autonomy and client self-determination by offering an easy-to-use\, effective\, ethical\, and evidence-based technique clients can learn and use on their own to manage physical and/or emotional symptoms (AAMFT\, 1.1.8\, 2015; NASW\, 1.02\, 1.03\, 2021; ACA\, 2014\, 1.; APA\, 2019). \n5. Demonstrate their ethical compliance with the ethical and legal standards that mental health practitioners work toward competency when introducing a new treatment or clinical skill. (ACA\, 2014; NASW\, 2019; AAMFT\, 1.1.2\, 2015). \n6. Understand how to explain EFT/Tapping in clear and understandable language to their clients\, demonstrating their adherence to ethical standards when introducing a new clinical tool or technique. (ACA\, 2014\, A. 2.d). \nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Kinky Sex Ed and Poly 101
DESCRIPTION:Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence CEs!\nKinky Sex Ed and Poly 101: A One-Day\, Two-Session Workshop\nPresented by: B Lourenco\, MA\, LMHC (she/her)\nWhen: Friday\, October 16th\, 2026| 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence CEs | Cost: $199.00 \nMorning Session: Kinky Sex Ed for Clinicians (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM\, Pacific) \nIn graduate school\, many programs offered a very limited education on human sexual development. The topics covered were largely typical\, normative experiences. This type of education leaves out so many other ways of being and leaves large gaps in our education about alternative ways of engaging with sex and relationships.  Both sessions of this one-day workshop–Kinky Sex Ed and Poly 101–are intended to help fill the gaps in clinical education and understanding. The goal is that the clinicians who attend will be more fully informed\, more inclusive in their approach\, and better able to support clients with “non-normative” sexual identities and experiences.  Kink refers to any sexual interest or behavior that is outside what is considered normative. Research indicates that many people have explored kinks at some point in their lives\, with many people having a kink as a core component of their sexual experiences. This course will identify common kink terms\, concepts\, and identities so that the clinicians who attend can better support kinky-identified clients. \nObjectives:\n\nLearn how kink is defined and connected to social constructs of normativity\nHave a basic understanding of common kink identities\nLearn basic kink terms and cultural norms\nKnow the differences between and among kinks\, fetishes\, and BDSM\nExplore how kinks develop and change over time and sexual development\nDefine healthy and ethical kink\nIdentify ethical concerns in kink culture\n\nAfternoon Session: Poly 101 for Clinicians (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)\nIn graduate school\, many programs offered a very limited education on human sexual development\, and the topics covered were largely typical\, normative experiences. This type of education leaves out so many other ways of being and leaves large gaps in our education about alternative ways of engaging with sex and relationships. Kinky Sex Ed and Poly 101 are both intended to help fill the gaps in clinical education and understanding so that clinicians can be more informed and able to support clients with “non-normative” sexual identities and experiences. The socialization that prioritizes monogamy starts very early in Western culture\, with messages about faithfulness\, loyalty\, jealousy\, and love all being inexplicably intertwined. The reality is that–for many people–monogamy simply doesn’t work well for them. This course will explore key terms and concepts of Ethical Non-Monogamy (ENM) and how to offer support to our clients in the clinical setting. \nObjectives: \n\nLearn monogamous and non-monogamous relationship types\nExplore basic terms and concepts of ethical non-monogamy (ENM)\nIdentify the role of monogamy culture on all relationship types\nDefine the differences between envy\, jealousy\, and trauma responses when navigating ENM\nUnderstand common ethical concerns in ENM\nIdentify the benefits associated with non-monogamous relationship dynamics\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

One may not know if a client is neurodivergent (ND). As ND people often do not see themselves as needing to be “fixed\,” they may not feel certain treatment approaches and/or vocabulary apply to them – and yet they are in our offices seeking help. Many self-diagnose\, and there are as many presentations of neurodivergence as there are neurodivergent people. How do we conceptualize working with this population? \nOne approach is to de-center the neurotypical classification of behavior as the primary issue and focus treatment instead on the identification and remediation of associated trauma. Sadly\, trauma and Neurodivergence often go together\, and one of the primary results of this is masking. \nMasking is the compensatory strategy many ND people develop to manage social expectations. This skill initially allows them to “fit in” better. Over the long term\, though\, the masking takes a huge toll and most often results in extreme mental and emotional fatigue\, chronic and extreme emotional dysregulation\, exacerbated learning difficulties\, and frightening and isolating trauma responses. \nIn this in-depth continuing education certificate series\, the presenter will discuss what it means to be non-pathologizing in more depth\, demonstrating the need to expand beyond the medical model. Social justice aspects of neurodivergence will be explored\, and a tool that enables a better conceptualization of self than the current “diagnosis” model will be taught and practiced. Then\, several methods to streamline addressing various neurodivergent differences will be shared and applied to case situations and in-session work groups. \nThis series is for anyone who took the survey course and wants more.  The survey course is NOT a requirement. If you’re ready to firm up your repertoire of skills working with Neurodivergent clients by learning a new tool you will find nowhere else\, then you’re in the right place! \nCONTINUING EDUCATION WORKSHOP SERIES OBJECTIVES:\n\nDescribe what it means to be “Non-pathologizing\,” including the benefit of the beyond-medical approach\, the power of resonance\, and the strength of the “pivot” in helping clients reach their fullest potential\nDescribe the specific neurodivergent-trauma that impedes agency and compounds anxiety\, depression\, shame\, and trauma responses\nExplain how certain social justice issues apply and can be addressed both within the medical model and in a non-pathologizing way.\nList and describe the ten domains of Neurodivergence\nCreate a self-map using the 10-Domain tool\nIdentify areas and degrees of masking and create treatment plans to address them\, determining approaches of accommodation versus adaptation\nExplore the concept of agency\, including how to build agency in clients\, in order to enhance self-efficacy and promote positive outcomes\nUse a 3-step Framework approach to addressing neurodivergence that will help clients reduce frustration and clarify direction in daily life\nApply new learning to case studies and real-time practice\n\n***PAYMENT OPTIONS\nCascadia Training values quality continuing education that is accessible\, inclusive\, and without barriers to all.

DESCRIPTION:Law & Ethics and Professional Roles & Boundaries CEs!\nEthics Through a Hollywood Lens\nPresented by: Kristie Baber\, MSW\, LICSW\, CCTP\nWhen: Thursday\, November 12th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live via Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link via email the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW Approved): 6 CEs – All 6 can be used for Law & Ethics CEs OR 4 Law & Ethics CEs and 2 Professional Roles & Boundaries CEs | Cost: $199.00\nIf we’re being honest\, sometimes it’s hard to feel motivated to take yet another ethics class. But whether we’ve been practicing for years or just starting to integrate the full meaning of our values into the clinical work\, it is essential to reconsider how our field’s ethical principles and standards apply to the actual daily practice with clients. This class will explore some of the most common ethical pitfalls ensnaring even the most experienced therapists. \nThis class is intended to be an entertaining guide to the ethical practice and professional responsibility we strive to attain. From a storytelling perspective\, we’ll look at some slippery slopes\, regrettable missteps\, and colossal blunders. Our focus will primarily be on ethical considerations within the therapeutic relationship – boundary crossings & violations\, professional competency & misconduct\, and the risks of compassion fatigue. \nThis full-day class is designed for practicing therapists with clients of all ages. The workshop will be conducted in a Zoom format. Teaching modalities will include clinical discussion\, lectures with many case examples\, video illustrations\, and small group and individual exercises. \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nDefine professional competence and identify our scope of practice.\nDifferentiate between boundary crossings and violations.\nIdentify potential impacts of transference and countertransference on ethical practice.\nUtilize Ling & Hauck’s ETHICS model as an option for decision-making.\nExplore the ethical risks of compassion fatigue and strategies to mitigate them.\nDetermine resources and supports for ethical decision-making.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Motivating Clients from Indecision to Action
DESCRIPTION:Motivating Clients from Indecision to Action\nPresented by: Randi Jensen\, MA\, LMHC\, CCDC\nWhen: Thursday\, December 10th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 6 CEs | $190.00\nMotivational Interviewing (MI) is an established evidence-based practice renowned for resolving ambivalence. MI\, which originates in substance use disorder treatment\, has been shown to enhance client motivation for change and improve treatment outcomes.  The spirit of MI complements Self-Determination Theory (SDI)\, which asserts that people have an intrinsic desire to make life changes congruent with their core values. SDI states that people are more likely to be internally motivated if their actions\, beliefs\, and core values align.  Motivational Interviewing provides the technique to make that happen. The principles of Motivational Interviewing include providing accurate empathy\, building discrepancy\, rolling with resistance\, and increasing self-efficacy. These supply the basis for building intrinsic motivation for change and can facilitate the resolution of life-threatening ambivalence in suicidality. Researchers Britton\, Williams\, and Connor (2008) show how the therapist’s proficiency in Motivational Interviewing can resolve a client’s ambivalence and resistance to change. This very practical workshop includes learning through lectures\, interactive discussions\, demonstrations\, video role plays\, and skill-building through group exercises. These methods combine to provide techniques and interventions that can be applied immediately. \nObjectives:\n• Describe the principles that underpin Motivational Interviewing and how they promote client autonomy • Articulate the distinguishing techniques of open-ended questions\, affirmations\, reflective listening\, and summarizations • Explain the Stages of Change as described by Prochaska and DiClemente (1983) • Discuss the significance of Self-Determination Theory in coordination with MI • Distinguish different methods of using MI with specific populations and varied disorders • Express and practice Motivational Interviewing techniques used in counseling suicidal individuals • Describe ethical considerations and documentation • Enumerate necessary therapist qualities that support the efficient use of MI Randi is an expert in both using and teaching Motivational Interviewing. In addition to her many years of presenting Cascadia Training workshops\, she taught Motivational Interviewing courses as an adjunct faculty member at Bastyr University and as Case Management Program Director for Antioch University and Seattle’s Job Initiative. She also uses her expert-level skills in Motivational Interviewing in her private practice\, specializing in treating clients with suicidality\, suicide ideation\, substance use disorders\, and more.
