SUMMARY:🆕BRAND-NEW! Lunch & Learn: Threat Analysis: Improving Self-Regulation with Practical Brain Science 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nLunch & Learn: Threat Analysis: Improving Self-Regulation with Practical Brain Science\nPresented by: Hannah Smith\, MA\, LMHC\, CGP\nWhen: Monday\, July 20th\, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM\, Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\n\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 1.5 CEs | $25.00\nYou will be hard-pressed to find a client in therapy that does not deal with anxiety\, and we all know the rate of people going to therapy for trauma treatment has been significant for some time. \nThen\, we have neurodivergent people who have steadily activated nervous systems we often diagnose as anxiety disorders\, especially social anxiety. \nIn any case\, the results of dysregulation can be destabilizing\, making people feel as if they are under threat\, which could lead to relational issues or cause them to miss out on their lives. \nBut what if it didn’t have to be this way? \nWith advances in our understanding of modern neuroscience and within the framework of Interpersonal Neurobiology\, we now recognize that there are two major neural pathways to nervous system activation\, each indicating a different type of threat. The key is to learn to detect the type of activation occurring and to respond appropriately to each. \nIn this session\, you will learn the science behind these two paths to dysregulation and an easy method to help show clients so they\, too\, can choose the right set of responses to whatever “present moment” situation they find themselves in\, resulting in more effective responses and less overall fear and activation. \nImagine!  A reduction in general\, separation\, and social anxiety! Improved outcomes in trauma when it’s not exacerbated by ongoing fear responses.  If you want to contribute to these outcomes\, this will be an hour well spent! \nWORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:\n\nIdentify and describe the neuro-biological systems involved in nervous system dysregulation\nExplain the two paths to activation\, why they occur\, and the appropriate responses to each\nApply a method to help clients tell the difference between the two paths so they have more buy-in for doing the work of self-regulation\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕 BRAND-NEW! Lunch & Learn: ADHD's Hidden Risk: Toxic Relationships and Clinical Interventions 🆕
DESCRIPTION:BRAND-NEW!\nHealth Equity or Cultural Competence Continuing Education Credits (CEs)\nLunch & Learn: ADHD’s Hidden Risk: Toxic Relationships and Clinical Interventions\nPresented by: Kate Mageau\, MA\, LMHC\nWhen: Monday\, July 27th\, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM\, Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved CEs): 1.5 Health Equity or Cultural Competence CEs | $25.00\nContinuing Education Workshop Description\nIntimate partner violence (IPV) affects nearly one in three people worldwide\, and it is frequently overlooked in neurodivergent populations. Adults with ADHD are 2.5 times more likely to experience IPV\, yet the specific neurological and psychological mechanisms behind this elevated risk are rarely addressed in clinical training. Equipping clinicians to recognize the signs of IPV in this population is a matter of client safety. \nThis continuing education workshop provides a comprehensive\, evidence-based framework for understanding why ADHD brains are neurologically and psychologically vulnerable to toxic relationship dynamics. Clinicians will explore the specific ADHD traits that create relational vulnerability\, the neuroscience of why clients stay\, and evidence-based treatment approaches particularly well-suited to the ADHD-IPV intersection\, including ACT\, narrative therapy\, and feminist-informed psychoeducation. Attendees will leave equipped to recognize relationship vulnerability patterns\, understand the neurological barriers to leaving\, and support ADHD clients who are at risk of being in a toxic or abusive relationship. \nPresenter’s emphasis on culture and intersectionality: This continuing education workshop centers intersectionality as a core clinical framework. Prevalence data on BIPOC populations are woven throughout\, including racial disparities in ADHD diagnosis. \nWhite individuals are 26% more likely to receive an ADHD diagnosis than Black individuals\, meaning BIPOC ADHDers are disproportionately undiagnosed and unsupported. Black\, American Indian and Alaska Native\, and Hispanic and Latina women all experience disproportionately high rates of IPV\, compounded by medical mistrust\, systemic barriers\, and discrimination when seeking help. \nLGBTQ+ populations are addressed explicitly\, including elevated ADHD prevalence in transgender adults\, IPV rates of 61% in bisexual women and 54% in transgender and non-binary people\, the 44% of LGBTQ+ survivors denied shelter services\, and how abusers may weaponize homophobia and transphobia\, including threats of outing as tools of control. \nThis workshop uses gender-neutral language throughout\, including gender-neutral pronouns\, reflecting the reality that ADHD and intimate partner violence affect people of all genders and that clinicians serve clients across the full spectrum of gender identity. Clinical examples and research cited throughout reflect diverse gender identities\, sexual orientations\, and racial and ethnic backgrounds. \nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives:\n\nDiscuss the neurobiological and psychological mechanisms by which ADHD increases vulnerability to intimate partner violence.\nApply this framework to recognize relationship vulnerability patterns in ADHD clients.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 3 Law & Ethics CEs | $99.00\nWorkshop Description:\nWhat were you taught about self-disclosure to clients in grad school? Are you wondering whether or not to disclose “something” to your clients? Self-disclosure in therapy is complex and dynamic. During this workshop\, we will have our eye on ethics as we explore considerations for clinician self-disclosure to clients. Self-disclosure has several dimensions\, including clinical\, therapeutic\, technical\, and\, in some cases\, legal or regulatory. We will examine the nature of self-disclosure\, including potential benefits and risks. Attention will specifically be given to ethical considerations\, namely\, relevant ethical principles\, and a typology of self-disclosure using case vignettes. Finally\, key recommendations will be given for clinicians to consider in their course of self-disclosure opportunities. Clinicians will be encouraged to “know thyself” and their ethical responsibilities to best utilize the avenue of appropriate self-disclosure. \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nComprehend and describe key aspects of therapeutic self-disclosure\, including potential benefits and risks.\nExamine and articulate key ethical considerations of self-disclosure\, including advantages and disadvantages.\nApply best practices for ethical and therapeutic self-disclosure by considering a variety of clinician and client factors.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:Death Planning and Acceptance: Breaking Down Stigma and Fear with Clients
DESCRIPTION:Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, and Cultural Competence CEs!\nDeath Planning and Acceptance: Breaking Down Stigma and Fear with Clients\nPresented by: Kylani St. Clair\, LMHC\, CCTP\, RYT\nWhen: Friday\, September 11\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 6 CEs -2 count as Law & Ethics and 2 count as Health Equity or Cultural Competence | $190.00\nContinuing Education Workshop Description:\nWhen a client says “The thought of my family dying keeps me up at night\,” or “I’m terrified of death\,” a clinician tends to have their own moment of fear or hesitation. Sometimes we don’t know how to respond\, what we’re “allowed” to say\, what we can offer without activating our own countertransference\, or we’re afraid to broach the cultural/religious beliefs. As a society\, we used to be more comfortable with death\, literally and figuratively. Not long ago\, we were planning for the inevitable much earlier in life. We even displayed the deceased in our living rooms for mourners to visit- sometimes for a week or more! The U.S. has especially stigmatized death and it’s palpable in our sessions. That existential dread and anxiety that sometimes leads to panic attacks and depressive episodes often has death at the core. \nFurther\, grief and loss are often compounded when we don’t know what the deceased person wanted\, how to pay for after-death services\, and contacting the people who need to be informed. For example\, do you know if your partner wants to be cremated or buried? Is it important to you to be buried in another state? If so\, do you know what the protocols are for being transported across state lines? Do you have enough money to pay for what the service the deceased wanted? If we don’t have these conversations in our personal lives\, how can we hold space for them with our clients? \nIn this continuing education workshop\, we will break down some of the barriers to discussing death. We will learn about the process of dying\, identify laws and regulations to navigate options\, and de-stigmatize death. We’ll navigate the how\, what\, when\, and why of these conversation in session and how to continue the conversations at home. Throughout this process\, you will ease your own countertransference about death\, making death planning and acceptance with clients more meaningful. \nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives: \n\nReduce existential dread and anxiety regarding death.\nReduce levels of depression seated in despair about death.\nNavigate clinical history at a multicultural level\, providing both clients and clinicians with options for how to handle their own death\, burial\, funeral\, etc.\n Share artifacts and resources for various death professionals.\nApply cultural\, religious\, and familial traditions.\n Identify differences between tradition types. Explore learner’s experiences. Identify any countertransference and how to hold space for it during session. Practice self-disclosure.\nRevisit Kubler-Ross’ stages of grief and introduce David Kessler’s Needs of the Dying affirmations.\nDiscuss pre-grieving\, second-grieving\, disenfranchised grief\, and normalize the process of grief.\nImprove client advocacy via communication and understanding rights.\nPractice communication around goals\, desires\, needs for end-of-life care\, including\, but not limited to\, funeral and burial details.\nModel the practice self-advocacy via the “Caregiver’s Bill of Rights\,” including gaining a thorough understanding of laws and regulations around death and dying.\nNavigate grief and loss\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n
