You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 3 CEs – 2 Professional Relationships and Boundaries CEs and 1 Law & Ethics CE | $109.00\nContinuing Education Workshop Description:\nBoundary violations are among the most common reasons for professional discipline of behavioral health clinicians. Dual relationships—both intentional and unintentional—can take many forms and often pose ethical\, clinical\, and legal challenges. \nIn recognition of this significant cause of misconduct\, as of October 2025\, the Washington Department of Health has implemented a new requirement for two hours of continuing education in “Professional Roles and Boundaries” every two years (the new Washington State continuing education requirements\, according to WAC 246-809-630\, can be found here). \nIn this continuing education workshop\, we will examine Washington State laws and professional ethical standards regarding personal and dual relationships with clients. Drawing from recent Washington Department of Health disciplinary decisions\, participants will engage with real-world case studies that illustrate common risk areas. The workshop will also offer practical strategies for establishing and maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries in everyday practice. \nThis course is designed to meet the Washington State Department of Health’s continuing education requirement for Professional Roles and Boundaries\, per WAC 246-809-630. \nThe third “bonus” hour will be a question-and-answer session with Eric and will include discussions of complex ethical cases involving professional roles and boundaries. \nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives:\nBy the end of this workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\nImplement strategies to maximize clinical effectiveness while minimizing liability risk;\nApply Washington legal guidelines regarding dual relationships;\nApply ethical standards concerning personal relationships with clients;\nIdentify and describe various types of inconsistent dual relationships;\nRecognize risk factors that may contribute to boundary crossings or violations; and\nCreate and evaluate strategies to maintain appropriate and ethical clinical relationships.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕 BRAND-NEW! The GLP-1 Frontier: Balancing Metabolic Health\, Muscle Mass\, and Mental Wellness 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nLaw & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence CEs!\nThe GLP-1 Frontier: Balancing Metabolic Health\, Muscle Mass\, and Mental Wellness\nPresented by: Dr. Kristen Allott\nWhen: Friday\, September 18\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 3 CEs – 2 are Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence CEs | $99.00\nContinuing Education Workshop Description:\nGLP-1 agonists are transforming the landscape of weight management\, but their impact on mental health and addictions and long-term physiological resilience is complex. While these “wonder drugs” offer significant benefits for some\, they can be neutral or even detrimental to others. This seminar provides mental health professionals with a deep dive into the clinical literature\, contrasting pharmaceutical data with real-world outcome studies. \nWe will specifically examine the critical role of muscle mass in sustaining both metabolic and mental health\, and how to identify when these medications may be supporting or compromising a client’s well-being. Participants will leave with a framework for navigating client conversations\, setting realistic expectations\, and “tipping the scales” toward safety and efficacy. \n\nHour 1: The Physiology of Weight Loss: Understanding the intersection of mental health and muscle mass.\nHour 2: Data vs. Reality: Analyzing pharmaceutical research against real-world outcome studies in mental health and addiction.\nHour 3: Clinical Application: Strategies for client goal-setting\, expectation management\, and monitoring outcomes.\n\nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives:\nAttendees of the continuing education workshop will: \n\nApply ethical standards and include informed consent when introducing holistic concepts and discussing somatic tools with clients.\nProvide client care within ethical scope of practice for mental health practitioners.\nMaintain awareness of possible implicit bias on the part of the clinician when discussing effectiveness and possible outcomes of GLP-1 medications\, especially when prescribed for weight management alone.\nComprehend implicit and explicit biases experienced by clients in larger bodies\, both in our society as a whole and our healthcare system in particular.\nUnderstand the psychological and medical reasons for the use of GLP-1 medications for weight management.\nUnderstand the current landscape of GLP-1 medications and mental health and addiction\, including company claims and FDA research.\nUnderstand the whole-life strategies (nutrition\, movement\, self-care) necessary for successful GLP-1 utilization.\nDevelop skills to support clients in setting realistic\, sustainable goals while navigating the use of GLP-1s.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕 BRAND-NEW! Ethics of Somatic Therapies: Boundaries\, Consent\, and Scope of Practice 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nMeets Professional Roles & Boundaries or Law & Ethics CE requirements!\nEthics of Somatic Therapies: Boundaries\, Consent\, and Scope of Practice\nPresented by: Dreya Blume\, LCSW\nWhen: Monday\, Septemer 28th\, 2026 | 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 3 CEs – counts as Professional Roles & Boundaries or Law & Ethics CEs | $99.00\nSomatic therapies are increasingly integrated into psychotherapy as clinicians seek ways to address trauma\, stress\, and emotional regulation through the body. However\, incorporating body-based interventions raises important ethical questions related to professional boundaries\, informed consent\, cultural sensitivity\, and the scope of practice. \nThis continuing education workshop explores the ethical use of somatic approaches within psychotherapy\, helping clinicians thoughtfully integrate body-oriented techniques while remaining aligned with professional standards of care. Together\, we will examine common ethical dilemmas that arise when working with breath\, movement\, grounding exercises\, and other somatic practices\, particularly regarding touch\, power dynamics\, trauma sensitivity\, and client autonomy. \nThe workshop will provide practical guidance for obtaining meaningful informed consent\, documenting somatic interventions\, and recognizing when referrals or additional training are necessary. Through case examples\, reflective discussion\, and ethical decision-making frameworks\, clinicians will strengthen their ability to incorporate somatic awareness into therapy while protecting client safety and maintaining clear professional boundaries. \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nDefine key ethical considerations involved in integrating somatic therapies into psychotherapy\, including issues related to boundaries\, consent\, and scope of practice.\nIdentify potential ethical risks and clinical dilemmas that may arise when using body-based interventions such as breathwork\, grounding exercises\, or movement practices.\nDescribe best practices for obtaining informed consent and maintaining clear therapeutic boundaries when incorporating somatic techniques into clinical work.\nApply ethical decision-making frameworks to determine when somatic interventions are appropriate within a clinician’s scope of practice and when consultation\, referral\, or additional training may be necessary.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n
