SUMMARY:Vicarious Trauma
DESCRIPTION:Meets Law & Ethics\, Professional Roles and Boundaries\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence Continuing Education Requirements!\nVicarious Trauma\nPresented by Rebecca Bloom\, LMHC (she/her)\nWhen: Friday\, March 6th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 CEs (meets criteria for Law & Ethics\, Professional Roles and Boundaries\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence CEs) | Cost: $199.00\nVicarious Traumatization\, Secondary Trauma\, Burnout. Diminished feelings of satisfaction\, blaming others\, hopelessness\, and low motivation-working in the counseling profession has its own stressors. Over time\, therapists may notice that it becomes harder to listen to clients’ stories or even that they become “numb” to the details of their clients’ difficulties. Many symptoms are known as the cost of working in the caring professions. Once thought of as being a sign of incomplete clinical training\, Vicarious Traumatization is now recognized as one of the possible experiences of hearing about “the worst of the worst” for a living. \nThis training will offer many theoretical viewpoints on the topic. Every theory has its own view on why we take our work home with us. We will discuss how Psychoanalytic\, Jungian\, Narrative\, and Mindfulness-based theories all have something to offer. We will look at them in depth\, as we take a day-long look at what parts of our work eat away at us. \nWe will do three interactive activities during the training that will help put our learning into practice\, and you will find simple ways to release the stress of your work. The techniques discussed can also be used in supervision and with clients. \nOBJECTIVES:\n\nLearn the signs of Vicarious Traumatization\nUnderstand how different theoretical viewpoints view Vicarious Traumatization\nExplore how their clinical experiences impact them\nLearn how to use narrative-based questions\nProblem-solve challenging clinical examples\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n
