DESCRIPTION:Nature Therapy Part II: Advanced Applications of Nature-Based Therapy and Eco-Therapy\nPresented by: Becky Robbins\, MA\, LMHC\, CEAT\, CYT\, NBT \nWhen: Friday\, August 28th\, 2026 | 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM\, Pacific Time\nWhere: Live\, In-Person event at Shoreline Center – at 12pm\, we will break for an hour lunch\, and will then reconvene at Hamlin Park\, located at 16006 15th Ave NE\, Shoreline\, WA\, at 1:00 for the remainder of the workshop\, which will be outdoors.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 6 CEs | $190.00\nThis workshop is a continuation of the workshop\, “Introduction to Nature-based Therapy: More Than a Walk in the Park.” \nWhether you already have a foundational understanding of nature-based therapy or eco-therapy from taking the introductory course with Becky or elsewhere\, this Advanced Applications of Nature-Based and Eco-Therapy workshop offers participants the opportunity for a deep dive into the concepts and application of nature-based therapy (NBT) and eco-therapy (ET) techniques. This day-long course is designed for therapists who want to deepen their skills and understanding. \nThis brand-new workshop offers an in-depth exploration of ecological\, biopsychosocial\, and somatic theories\, including biophilia\, ecopsychology\, polyvagal theory\, mindfulness-based approaches\, and Jungian theory\, among others\, as well as practical strategies for integrating them into your clinical practice. Through experiential exercises\, interactive lectures\, and case discussions\, you’ll gain tools to: \n\nApply advanced interventions\,\nLearn scales and measurements for tracking progress and efficacy\,\nNavigate ethical and cultural considerations\,\nChoose appropriate approaches for specific issues and diagnosis\, and\nEnhance outcomes for both clients and yourself by engaging nature as co-therapist.\n\nObjectives:\n\nExplore advanced ecological and psychological theories.\nPractice nature-based somatic and expressive arts interventions with intention and mindfulness.\nAddress cultural and ecological diversity with sensitivity and integrity.\nIntegrate NBT and ET with numerous trauma-informed\, client-centered approaches.\nUnderstand evidence-based scales and measures that apply to outdoor therapy.\nAdvance your understanding of treatment appropriateness with case studies.\n\nIndoor and Outdoor Sessions\nThis workshop will be divided into an indoor morning session and an outdoor afternoon session\, separated by the lunch hour. The morning session will include lectures\, dyad/triad work\, and discussion.
