SUMMARY:Chronic Pain: Psychological and Somatic Strategies that Offer Relief and Hope
DESCRIPTION:Health Equity or Cultural Competence CEs!\nChronic Pain: Psychological and Somatic Strategies that Offer Relief and Hope\nPresented by: Dreya Blume\, LCSW\nWhen: Friday\, August 14th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA approved): 6 Health Equity or Cultural Competence CEs | $190.00 \nChronic pain is more than a physical symptom – it is a complex interplay of body\, mind\, and emotion that can impact every dimension of a client’s life. Stress\, trauma\, and persistent tension often amplify pain signals\, reinforcing cycles of discomfort\, hypervigilance\, and emotional dysregulation. \nThis in-depth continuing education workshop is designed for psychotherapists who want to bring a mind-body lens to chronic pain treatment. Participants will explore evidence-informed psychological and somatic strategies (including mindfulness\, grounding\, breathwork\, guided imagery\, hypnosis\, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)\, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy\, and body awareness interventions) that help reduce pain perception\, support regulation\, and foster resilience. \nAttendees will learn how to help clients shift their relationship with pain\, identify and release tension patterns\, and build self-regulation skills. Therapists will leave with practical tools and strategies for combining psychological insight and somatic techniques\, expanding their ability to guide clients toward relief\, restoration\, and improved quality of life. \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nDevelop an understanding of how psychological processes and somatic patterns interact in the experience of chronic pain.\nLearn evidence-informed somatic techniques (e.g.\, grounding\, breathwork\, body-awareness practices) that can reduce pain-related stress and support client regulation.\nExplore ways to integrate psychological interventions (e.g.\, cognitive reframing\, mindfulness\, compassion practices) with somatic strategies for holistic pain care.\nBuild skills to recognize and respond to somatic signals of pain and emotional distress\, guiding clients in developing self-soothing and regulation techniques.\nIdentify culturally sensitive approaches for tailoring mind-body interventions to clients with diverse experiences of pain.\nLearn methods for assessing the effectiveness of combined psychological and somatic strategies in reducing pain and enhancing resilience\nIdentify the emotional\, mental\, and spiritual impacts of living with chronic pain.\nUnderstand at least ten non-pharmaceutical ways to manage chronic pain.\nBecome familiar with the emotional issues surrounding chronic pain.\nDiscuss the role of grief and anger in living with chronic pain.\nExplore newer pain management tools such as somatic tracking.\nIdentify how to introduce pain management techniques appropriately to clients.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕BRAND-NEW! Lunch & Learn: Introduction to Somatic Psychotherapies 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nLunch & Learn: Introduction to Somatic Psychotherapies\nPresented by: Dreya Blume\, LCSW\nWhen: Monday\, August 17th\, 2026 | 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 1.5 CEs | $25.00\nSomatic psychotherapies rest on the understanding that the body holds important keys to healing trauma\, stress\, and emotional distress. This continuing education workshop will introduce psychotherapists to some of the most widely practiced somatic approaches (including Somatic Experiencing\, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy\, EMDR\, Brainspotting\, Hakomi Method\, and Emotional Freedom Technique). \nParticipants will gain a foundational understanding of how these methods view the mind-body connection\, the role of bodily sensations in emotional regulation\, and the ways somatic awareness can deepen therapeutic work. \nThe goal of this training is to provide a broad overview so clinicians can compare approaches and make informed decisions about which somatic modalities align with their interests\, client needs\, and practice settings. Participants will leave with a clearer map of the somatic therapy landscape and concrete ideas for integrating body-oriented awareness into their current clinical work. \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nDevelop an understanding of the core principles shared across somatic psychotherapies.\nGain introductory knowledge of several popular approaches (e.g.\, Somatic Experiencing\, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy\, EMDR\, Brainspotting\, EFT).\nCompare and contrast the theoretical foundations\, methods\, and applications of different somatic modalities.\nLearn practical entry-point strategies for incorporating body awareness and regulation techniques into therapy sessions.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕 BRAND-NEW! Ethics of Somatic Therapies: Boundaries\, Consent\, and Scope of Practice 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nMeets Professional Roles & Boundaries or Law & Ethics CE requirements!\nEthics of Somatic Therapies: Boundaries\, Consent\, and Scope of Practice\nPresented by: Dreya Blume\, LCSW\nWhen: Monday\, Septemer 28th\, 2026 | 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 3 CEs – counts as Professional Roles & Boundaries or Law & Ethics CEs | $99.00\nSomatic therapies are increasingly integrated into psychotherapy as clinicians seek ways to address trauma\, stress\, and emotional regulation through the body. However\, incorporating body-based interventions raises important ethical questions related to professional boundaries\, informed consent\, cultural sensitivity\, and the scope of practice. \nThis continuing education workshop explores the ethical use of somatic approaches within psychotherapy\, helping clinicians thoughtfully integrate body-oriented techniques while remaining aligned with professional standards of care. Together\, we will examine common ethical dilemmas that arise when working with breath\, movement\, grounding exercises\, and other somatic practices\, particularly regarding touch\, power dynamics\, trauma sensitivity\, and client autonomy. \nThe workshop will provide practical guidance for obtaining meaningful informed consent\, documenting somatic interventions\, and recognizing when referrals or additional training are necessary. Through case examples\, reflective discussion\, and ethical decision-making frameworks\, clinicians will strengthen their ability to incorporate somatic awareness into therapy while protecting client safety and maintaining clear professional boundaries. \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nDefine key ethical considerations involved in integrating somatic therapies into psychotherapy\, including issues related to boundaries\, consent\, and scope of practice.\nIdentify potential ethical risks and clinical dilemmas that may arise when using body-based interventions such as breathwork\, grounding exercises\, or movement practices.\nDescribe best practices for obtaining informed consent and maintaining clear therapeutic boundaries when incorporating somatic techniques into clinical work.\nApply ethical decision-making frameworks to determine when somatic interventions are appropriate within a clinician’s scope of practice and when consultation\, referral\, or additional training may be necessary.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n
