SUMMARY:🆕 BRAND-NEW! Yoga Nidra for Nervous System Regulation\, Self-Awareness\, and Emotional Clarity 🆕
DESCRIPTION:BRAND-NEW!\nLaw & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence CEs\nYoga Nidra for Nervous System Regulation\, Self-Awareness\, and Emotional Clarity\nThis continuing education workshop is accessible to all clinicians\, regardless of their yoga experience (or lack thereof). No previous yoga experience\, training\, or certification required. \nPresented by: Kylani St. Clair\, LMHC\, CCTP\, RYT\nWhen: Friday\, June 26th\, 2026 | 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live via Zoom (you’ll receive the link the week of the workshop)\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 3 CEs (meets Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence requirements) | Cost: $99.00\nCONTINUING EDUCATION WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:\nNot all clients can “talk their way” into emotional regulation and awareness—so what do you do when words aren’t enough? When a client feels overwhelmed\, scattered\, and/or disconnected\, often the most effective intervention isn’t more verbal processing—it’s helping the nervous system slow down\, settle\, reset\, and recover. Yoga nidra best serves people who are highly anxious and experience chronic stress. \nThis engaging and experiential continuing education workshop\, developed and presented by Kylani St. Clair\, introduces a powerful\, accessible clinical tool for nervous system regulation\, healing\, and self-discovery: yoga nidra! \nYoga nidra is a form of guided deep meditation\, practiced lying down or seated\, that invites clients into a state of profound relaxation—without requiring movement or prior meditation experience. Often described as a state between wakefulness and sleep\, this practice creates space for both deep rest and meaningful insight to emerge simultaneously. \nThrough her decades of yoga practice as a student and eventually a seasoned yoga teacher\, Kylani discovered that several types of yoga – such as yoga nidra – complement her mental health practice and therapeutic techniques in powerful ways. She regularly weaves various forms of ygoa into counseling sessions with clients to support nervous system and emotional regulation\, movement medicine\, spiritual exploration\, and overall mind-body-spirit wellness\, thereby drastically improving client outcomes. Now she has developed this workshop to help you do the same! \nRooted in an ancient tradition\, this workshop will also acknowledge the cultural origins of yoga nidra and explore ways to integrate the practice into clinical work with cultural humility and respect. Through yoga nidra\, clients can gently access physical\, emotional\, cognitive\, and even spiritual awareness\, gaining clarity around their present experience\, values\, needs\, and boundaries while the nervous system actively settles and recovers. What often feels out of reach in a fully alert state can become more accessible through guided rest. \nParticipants in this workshop will not only learn about yoga nidra—they will practice it and experience its powerful effects firsthand! This training includes a guided practice incorporating progressive muscle relaxation\, breathwork\, imagery\, and intention-setting. Emphasis will be placed on the clinician’s role in facilitation\, including the intentional use of tone\, pacing\, and therapeutic presence to support co-regulation\, safety\, and engagement. Ethical considerations will be integrated throughout\, including informed consent\, scope of practice\, and supporting client autonomy and choice within the practice. \nBeyond the experience gained\, participants will develop practical\, immediately applicable skills for integrating yoga nidra into everyday clinical sessions. This includes learning how to assess when yoga nidra may be appropriate\, adapt the practice for different client needs\, and facilitate post-practice processing to deepen insight and therapeutic impact. \nParticipants will also learn how to create their own yoga nidra scripts tailored to their clients’ unique needs\, with attention to accessibility\, inclusivity\, and client-centered care. \nBy the end of this powerful and practical workshop\, clinicians will leave with a deeper understanding of how to use deep rest as a therapeutic intervention—and the confidence to begin using these tools with clients right away. \nCONTINUING EDUCATION WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:\nWorkshop attendees will: \n\nLearn the principles of yoga nidra and its role in nervous system regulation\nParticipate first-hand in a yoga nidra practice\, relaxing your system during training\nPractice guiding clients in yoga nidra with tone\, pacing\, and more\nDevelop your own unique scripts for your clients’ needs\nLearn to facilitate post-practice processing with clients\nIdentify the ethics of introducing yoga nidra into the therapeutic session\, including the scope of practice\, competence with a new technique\, ensuring there is informed consent\, and understanding possible contraindications to including yoga in therapy sessions.\nConsider the cultural and spiritual implications for each client.\nLearn how to understand and build in the client’s unique belief systems into the therapeutic session.\n\nThis continuing education workshop is accessible to all clinicians\, regardless of their yoga experience (or lack thereof). No previous yoga experience\, training\, or certification required. \nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕 Brand-New! The Major Arcana and the Hero’s Journey: Discovering Your Story Through Tarot 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nMeets Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, or Cultural Competence Continuing Education Requirements!\nThe Major Arcana and the Hero’s Journey: Discovering Your Story Through Tarot\nPresented by Rebecca Bloom\, LMHC (she/her)\nWhen: Friday\, July 17th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 CEs (meets criteria for 2 Law & Ethics and 2 Health Equity or Cultural Competence CEs) | Cost: $199.00\nEvery person is on a journey — one of becoming\, healing\, and finding meaning. The Major Arcana of the Tarot offers a beautiful reflection of this path. These 22 cards tell the story of the Hero’s Journey: the universal process of growth and transformation that mirrors each of our lives. Jung’s model of the hero’s journey is a path that clients can easily relate to in their own lives. In this workshop\, you’ll explore how the Tarot can help clients connect with their path through difficult times. \nThe Major Arcana begins with The Fool\, who takes a leap of faith into the unknown\, and ends with The World\, symbolizing a completed journey. Between these two cards lies the full range of human experience — discovery\, love\, loss\, challenge\, renewal\, and awakening. Each card helps clients reflect on how they learn\, heal\, and grow. \nWorking with these archetypes can help clients who recognize that the transformation is possible and that setbacks are part of the journey. Perhaps you are navigating a “Tower” moment of upheaval\, meeting your “Shadow” in The Devil\, or beginning a new chapter as The Fool once more. Through the imagery of the Tarot\, you will help clients to see their story not as fragmented or confusing\, but as meaningful — a necessary part of an unfolding journey toward wholeness. \nDuring this experiential workshop\, you’ll be guided through meditations\, creative exercises\, and creating Tarot cards. \nTarot\, when used in this way\, is not about prediction; it’s about reflection. It’s a way of accessing unconscious wisdom — the part of you that already knows what healing and integration look like. Jung described this process as individuation: the journey of becoming your fullest\, most authentic self. \nThrough the language of the Major Arcana\, you can learn to trust this inner process\, honor the changes you’re experiencing\, and view your challenges as meaningful steps along your path. Whether you are seeking clarity\, self-compassion\, or a deeper sense of purpose\, the Tarot offers a gentle\, creative way to reconnect with your own story — the myth you are living and the hero you are becoming. \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nRecognize how the Hero’s Journey helps clients on their healing journey\nUnderstand the lessons of the major arcana through a therapeutic lens\nGain confidence in using tarot in clinical settings.\nHelping clients reconnect with intuition\, purpose\, and inner guidance\nExplore art making for self-care\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕BRAND-NEW! Lunch & Learn: Threat Analysis: Improving Self-Regulation with Practical Brain Science 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nLunch & Learn: Threat Analysis: Improving Self-Regulation with Practical Brain Science\nPresented by: Hannah Smith\, MA\, LMHC\, CGP\nWhen: Monday\, July 20th\, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM\, Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\n\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 1.5 CEs | $25.00\nYou will be hard-pressed to find a client in therapy that does not deal with anxiety\, and we all know the rate of people going to therapy for trauma treatment has been significant for some time. \nThen\, we have neurodivergent people who have steadily activated nervous systems we often diagnose as anxiety disorders\, especially social anxiety. \nIn any case\, the results of dysregulation can be destabilizing\, making people feel as if they are under threat\, which could lead to relational issues or cause them to miss out on their lives. \nBut what if it didn’t have to be this way? \nWith advances in our understanding of modern neuroscience and within the framework of Interpersonal Neurobiology\, we now recognize that there are two major neural pathways to nervous system activation\, each indicating a different type of threat. The key is to learn to detect the type of activation occurring and to respond appropriately to each. \nIn this session\, you will learn the science behind these two paths to dysregulation and an easy method to help show clients so they\, too\, can choose the right set of responses to whatever “present moment” situation they find themselves in\, resulting in more effective responses and less overall fear and activation. \nImagine!  A reduction in general\, separation\, and social anxiety! Improved outcomes in trauma when it’s not exacerbated by ongoing fear responses.  If you want to contribute to these outcomes\, this will be an hour well spent! \nWORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:\n\nIdentify and describe the neuro-biological systems involved in nervous system dysregulation\nExplain the two paths to activation\, why they occur\, and the appropriate responses to each\nApply a method to help clients tell the difference between the two paths so they have more buy-in for doing the work of self-regulation\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 3 Law & Ethics CEs | $99.00\nWorkshop Description:\nWhat were you taught about self-disclosure to clients in grad school? Are you wondering whether or not to disclose “something” to your clients? Self-disclosure in therapy is complex and dynamic. During this workshop\, we will have our eye on ethics as we explore considerations for clinician self-disclosure to clients. Self-disclosure has several dimensions\, including clinical\, therapeutic\, technical\, and\, in some cases\, legal or regulatory. We will examine the nature of self-disclosure\, including potential benefits and risks. Attention will specifically be given to ethical considerations\, namely\, relevant ethical principles\, and a typology of self-disclosure using case vignettes. Finally\, key recommendations will be given for clinicians to consider in their course of self-disclosure opportunities. Clinicians will be encouraged to “know thyself” and their ethical responsibilities to best utilize the avenue of appropriate self-disclosure. \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nComprehend and describe key aspects of therapeutic self-disclosure\, including potential benefits and risks.\nExamine and articulate key ethical considerations of self-disclosure\, including advantages and disadvantages.\nApply best practices for ethical and therapeutic self-disclosure by considering a variety of clinician and client factors.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕BRAND-NEW! Narrative Therapy as Transformational Practice: Re-Authoring the Soul 🆕
DESCRIPTION:BRAND-NEW!\nNarrative Therapy as Transformational Practice: Re-Authoring the Soul\nPresented by: Dreya Blume\, LCSW\nWhen: Wednesday\, August 26th\, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM\, Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 CEs | $190.00\nNarrative therapy invites us to view problems as separate from people and identity as something shaped through story\, culture\, and relationship. This day-long continuing education training offers clinicians a deep dive into the philosophical foundations and clinical applications of narrative therapy\, including externalization\, mapping the influence of the problem\, re-authoring conversations\, and definitional ceremonies. Participants will explore how dominant cultural narratives around pathology\, productivity\, trauma\, and identity influence both clients and clinicians — and how narrative practices can gently disrupt those scripts. \nThis training is highly experiential. Clinicians will leave with immediately usable interventions\, sample language for sessions\, and a deeper awareness of how their own professional identities are shaped by story. The emphasis throughout the day is on practical skill-building\, relational witnessing\, and reclaiming therapeutic conversations as spaces of possibility\, agency\, and meaning-making. \nWorkshop Objectives:\nBy the end of this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nDescribe the philosophical foundations of narrative therapy\, including social constructionism\, externalization\, and the role of power in shaping identity narratives.\nDemonstrate the use of externalizing language to separate clients from problem-saturated stories in clinical conversations.\nApply re-authoring techniques to help clients identify unique outcomes and develop preferred identity narratives.\nFacilitate at least one structured experiential narrative intervention (e.g.\, definitional ceremony\, therapeutic letter writing\, or story-mapping exercise).\nAnalyze how cultural\, systemic\, and contextual factors influence dominant narratives impacting clients’ lives.\nIntegrate narrative practices into their existing clinical orientation while maintaining ethical and culturally responsive care.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Death Planning and Acceptance: Breaking Down Stigma and Fear with Clients
DESCRIPTION:Law & Ethics\, Health Equity\, and Cultural Competence CEs!\nDeath Planning and Acceptance: Breaking Down Stigma and Fear with Clients\nPresented by: Kylani St. Clair\, LMHC\, CCTP\, RYT\nWhen: Friday\, September 11\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 6 CEs -2 count as Law & Ethics and 2 count as Health Equity or Cultural Competence | $190.00\nContinuing Education Workshop Description:\nWhen a client says “The thought of my family dying keeps me up at night\,” or “I’m terrified of death\,” a clinician tends to have their own moment of fear or hesitation. Sometimes we don’t know how to respond\, what we’re “allowed” to say\, what we can offer without activating our own countertransference\, or we’re afraid to broach the cultural/religious beliefs. As a society\, we used to be more comfortable with death\, literally and figuratively. Not long ago\, we were planning for the inevitable much earlier in life. We even displayed the deceased in our living rooms for mourners to visit- sometimes for a week or more! The U.S. has especially stigmatized death and it’s palpable in our sessions. That existential dread and anxiety that sometimes leads to panic attacks and depressive episodes often has death at the core. \nFurther\, grief and loss are often compounded when we don’t know what the deceased person wanted\, how to pay for after-death services\, and contacting the people who need to be informed. For example\, do you know if your partner wants to be cremated or buried? Is it important to you to be buried in another state? If so\, do you know what the protocols are for being transported across state lines? Do you have enough money to pay for what the service the deceased wanted? If we don’t have these conversations in our personal lives\, how can we hold space for them with our clients? \nIn this continuing education workshop\, we will break down some of the barriers to discussing death. We will learn about the process of dying\, identify laws and regulations to navigate options\, and de-stigmatize death. We’ll navigate the how\, what\, when\, and why of these conversation in session and how to continue the conversations at home. Throughout this process\, you will ease your own countertransference about death\, making death planning and acceptance with clients more meaningful. \nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives: \n\nReduce existential dread and anxiety regarding death.\nReduce levels of depression seated in despair about death.\nNavigate clinical history at a multicultural level\, providing both clients and clinicians with options for how to handle their own death\, burial\, funeral\, etc.\n Share artifacts and resources for various death professionals.\nApply cultural\, religious\, and familial traditions.\n Identify differences between tradition types. Explore learner’s experiences. Identify any countertransference and how to hold space for it during session. Practice self-disclosure.\nRevisit Kubler-Ross’ stages of grief and introduce David Kessler’s Needs of the Dying affirmations.\nDiscuss pre-grieving\, second-grieving\, disenfranchised grief\, and normalize the process of grief.\nImprove client advocacy via communication and understanding rights.\nPractice communication around goals\, desires\, needs for end-of-life care\, including\, but not limited to\, funeral and burial details.\nModel the practice self-advocacy via the “Caregiver’s Bill of Rights\,” including gaining a thorough understanding of laws and regulations around death and dying.\nNavigate grief and loss\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT): Tapping for Clinicians
DESCRIPTION:Law & Ethics CEs!\nEmotional Freedom Techniques (EFT): Tapping for Clinicians\nPresented by: Shelley White\, MA\, LMHC\nWhen: Monday\, September 14th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 12:15 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 3 Law & Ethics CEs | Cost: $99.00\nEmotion Freedom Techniques (EFT) – also known as EFT Tapping –has become a widely accepted\, effective\, evidence-based strategy to reduce emotional distress and increase physical well-being. Many prominent therapists and psychologists\, including trauma expert Bessel van der Kolk\, use a form of tapping with their clients\, and now you can too. \nEFT Tapping is a technique based on the same science as acupuncture. Since its inception in the late 1980s\, more than 200 research studies supporting its effectiveness have been published. Studies show that Tapping can reduce activity in the amygdala\, up-regulate immune genes\, down-regulate inflammation genes\, increase endorphin release\, and decrease cortisol levels in a very short period of time. Tapping has demonstrated its effectiveness in a variety of ways. It has been shown to increase test scores\, manage phobias\, and reduce pain. Tapping helps with trauma symptoms by safely releasing emotional numbing\, calming fears of vulnerability and connection\, reducing the need to be perfect\, and quieting shame. This workshop provides you with the introductory skills you need to start using basic tapping techniques immediately. \nIn addition to learning how to help clients with this evidence-based intervention\, attendees will also learn how to include Tapping as a technique in their own self-care toolkit. Listening to our clients’ fears\, stress\, anxiety\, and pain can affect our ability to stay calm\, centered\, and peaceful in our own lives. Our self-care is crucial to our ability to offer quality care to our clients\, which is why it is an ethical mandate in the mental health professions. Tapping can help you stay focused and present for your clients and help you to release any intense energy you may be holding after a therapeutic session. \nThrough observation\, lecture\, and practice\, workshop attendees will learn the history of tapping and understand the psychology and science behind its success. Attendees will learn and practice the basic Tapping protocol\, so you will be able to use EFT with your clients—and in your own self-care– immediately. Come earn 3 law & ethics CEs by learning this effective self-regulatory tool—for you AND your clients! \nWorkshop Objectives:\nAfter attending this workshop\, attendees will: \n\nUnderstand the history and origins of EFT Tapping and know that it works by using the same acupressure points and meridians that are used in acupuncture. Understand EFT/Tapping offers an effective\, evidence-based intervention and can easily be introduced into a clinician’s ongoing self-care practice.  (NASW\, 2021; ACA\, 2014; APA\, 2019)\nComprehend that self-care adds to their clinical competency and adheres to the ethical mandate to include self-care in their daily lives to avoid impairment in functioning (NASW\, 2021; ACA\, 2014; APA\, 2019).\nLearn how to introduce Tapping into the therapeutic setting\, communicating with clients about the purpose and use of EFT/Tapping in ways that are both developmentally and culturally appropriate\, aligning with the ethical imperative of informed consent. (NASW\, 2021\, 1.03\, 1/05; ACA\, 1.03\, 2014.)\nUnderstand that EFT Tapping is an evidence-based intervention and be able to discuss positive outcomes from using tapping to increase calm and reduce anxiety\, to improve concentration\, and decrease high blood pressure. EFT Tapping can be used for both sensory/physical and emotional self-regulation.\nObtain continuing education in EFT/Tapping and gain experience in using EFT/Tapping by practicing in triads and following the various protocols for using EFT/Tapping. (APA\, 2019; AMHCA\, 2020; ACA\, 2014; NASW\, 1.03\, 2021).\nLearn that EFT/Tapping ensures the ethical principles of client autonomy and client self-determination by offering an easy-to-use\, effective\, ethical\, and evidence-based technique clients can learn and use on their own to manage physical and/or emotional symptoms (AAMFT\, 1.1.8\, 2015; NASW\, 1.02\, 1.03\, 2021; ACA\, 2014\, 1.; APA\, 2019).\nDemonstrate their ethical compliance with the ethical and legal standards that mental health practitioners work toward competency when introducing a new treatment or clinical skill. (ACA\, 2014; NASW\, 2019; AAMFT\, 1.1.2\, 2015).\nUnderstand how to explain EFT/Tapping in clear and understandable language to their clients\, demonstrating their adherence to ethical standards when introducing a new clinical tool or technique. (ACA\, 2014\, A. 2.d).\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

You will discover how tarot card imagery functions as a dynamic visual and symbolic language\, uniquely suited to therapeutic conversations. From its historical roots and cultural controversies to its contemporary relevance in the therapy room\, this course provides a comprehensive introduction to the clinical applications of tarot. \nTarot is a particularly powerful tool in psychotherapy because it engages both intuition and structured exploration. Its archetypal and narrative richness make tarot an ideal companion for therapists working at the intersection of the unconscious and creative expression. Tarot cards can externalize internal experiences\, evoke epiphany\, and stimulate insight\, allowing clients to access feelings and ideas that may be difficult to articulate in more traditional ways. Whether used for parts work or accessing suppressed emotions\, tarot meets clients where they are\, supporting both depth and flexibility in the therapeutic process. \nIn becoming a “tarot-friendly therapist\,” you will discover that incorporating tarot into your practice opens up a creative and intuitive space for clients that is rich with possibility. Tarot allows clients to externalize internal experiences\, access inner wisdom\, and engage in symbolic storytelling that can be both playful and profound. Whether used as a metaphor\, visual prompt\, or reflective tool\, tarot can make therapy feel more accessible\, empowering\, and emotionally resonant\, especially for those who struggle to articulate feelings through words alone. Clients who already have a relationship with tarot (or are simply curious about the cards) will be thrilled to learn that this powerful tool can be integrated into their treatment. \nThroughout the course\, we will explore the projective potential of tarot through the lenses of Jungian psychology\, narrative therapy\, psychodrama\, and Gestalt practices such as chairwork. We will also examine tarot’s compatibility with modalities such as EMDR\, Internal Family Systems\, Poetry Therapy\, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy\, broadening your understanding of how to integrate tarot into diverse treatment approaches. \nWith an emphasis on ethical\, inclusive practice\, you will learn how to introduce tarot imagery to clients in ways that honor spiritual and religious diversity while respecting professional boundaries. The course includes guidance on spiritual competency\, clinical documentation\, and ethical considerations. This highly experiential training offers ample opportunities to practice\, reflect on\, and personalize the material. Whether you are an experienced clinician seeking new depth or a newer therapist curious about symbolic tools\, this program offers both theoretical grounding and hands-on application: The goal is for you to leave feeling comfortable and confident integrating tarot into your therapy practice. By the end\, you will have an expanded toolkit and a new lens through which to view healing\, insight\, and transformation. \nNote: No prior experience with tarot is required. \nThis course is based on Dreya Blume’s book\, The Clinical Use of Tarot Card Imagery in Psychotherapy (2025) (Amazon link) \nExciting News! Tapping has been shown to increase test scores\, manage phobias\, and reduce pain. Tapping helps with trauma symptoms by safely releasing emotional numbing\, calming fears of vulnerability and connection\, reducing the need to be perfect\, and quieting shame. This workshop provides you with the introductory skills you need to start using basic tapping techniques and to teach your clients immediately. Our self-care is crucial to our ability to offer quality care to our clients. Tapping can help you stay focused and present for your clients and release any intense energy you may be holding after a therapeutic session. \nContinuing Education Workshop Objectives\nAfter attending this workshop\, attendees will: \n1. Comprehend that self-care adds to their clinical competency and adheres to the ethical mandate to include self-care in their daily lives to avoid impairment in functioning (NASW\, 2021; ACA\, 2014; APA\, 2019). \n2. Learn how to introduce Tapping into the therapeutic setting\, communicating with clients about the purpose and use of EFT/Tapping in ways that are both developmentally and culturally appropriate\, aligning with the ethical imperative of informed consent. (NASW\, 2021\, 1.03\, 1/05; ACA\, 1.03\, 2014.) \n3. Understand that EFT Tapping is an evidence-based intervention and be able to discuss positive outcomes from using tapping to increase calm and reduce anxiety\, to improve concentration\, and decrease high blood pressure. EFT Tapping can be used for both sensory/physical and emotional self-regulation. \n4. Learn that EFT/Tapping ensures the ethical principles of client autonomy and client self-determination by offering an easy-to-use\, effective\, ethical\, and evidence-based technique clients can learn and use on their own to manage physical and/or emotional symptoms (AAMFT\, 1.1.8\, 2015; NASW\, 1.02\, 1.03\, 2021; ACA\, 2014\, 1.; APA\, 2019). \n5. Demonstrate their ethical compliance with the ethical and legal standards that mental health practitioners work toward competency when introducing a new treatment or clinical skill. (ACA\, 2014; NASW\, 2019; AAMFT\, 1.1.2\, 2015). \n6. Understand how to explain EFT/Tapping in clear and understandable language to their clients\, demonstrating their adherence to ethical standards when introducing a new clinical tool or technique. (ACA\, 2014\, A. 2.d). \nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

This continuing education workshop will explore the universal experience of grief – the process that attempts to recover meaning following a loss (Brown\, 2021) – and the myriad ways in which it can go awry. \nThe wounds of childhood compound as we age and inevitably experience further losses\, each echoing the initial pain. In a realistic and lighthearted way\, we will address the reality of impermanence and our lifelong effort to adjust. From treating acute grief in childhood to the manifestation of unresolved loss in our adult clients\, this class will explore the ways therapists can help integrate the hurts of a lifetime. \nThis class is designed for practicing therapists with clients of all ages. The workshop will be conducted in a Zoom format\, and teaching modalities will include a mix of clinical discussion\, lecture with clinical examples & video illustrations\, as well as individual/group case exercises. \nWORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:\n\nHonoring the complexity of human relationships and experiences\, recognize that death is only one manifestation of the loss people endure.\nUnderstand the neuropsychological basis for traumatic loss experiences in childhood persisting throughout the lifespan into adulthood and affecting our clients long after the event occurred.\nIdentify prolonged grief disorder (a.k.a. complicated grief or traumatic grief) as well as symbolic loss\, disenfranchised grief\, and ambiguous loss.\nRecognize how children’s\, tweens’ & teens’ understanding of death and reaction to loss differs from the presentation of adults; as well as interpret behavioral patterns at different developmental stages.\nImplement therapeutic interventions for adults\, including Worden’s TEAR model and Shear’s HEALING milestones.\nEstablish a treatment plan for clients experiencing grief & loss and explore developmentally appropriate therapeutic tools and activities.\nAccess provided references and resources for further study.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n
