SUMMARY:SPECIAL SALE! The Science of Gender & Resistance: Empowering Ourselves and Our Clients with Practical Neuroscience
DESCRIPTION:Last-Minute Deal! $30 Off!\nHealthy Equity or Cultural Competence CEs!\nThe Science of Gender & Resistance: Empowering Ourselves and Our Clients with Practical Neuroscience\nPresented by: Hannah Smith\, MA\, LMHC\, CGP\nWhen: Wednesday\, April 22\, 2026| 9:00 am – 12:15 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive workshop details the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 3 Health Equity or Cultural Competence CEs | $95.00 NOW ONLY $65.00!\nGender is a hot-button topic these days\, for sure! There is so much dis- and misinformation out there. There is presently no societal consensus on the meaning of gender identity and the plethora of science behind this. Some people will even go so far as to say there is no science and that it’s “All (simply) about chromosomes.” \nMany of us know on a gut level this is not true\, but we cannot put what we know into words. In fact\, even doctors\, parents\, and transgender and non-binary people themselves can struggle to do so. \nThen\, even if we could explain it\, we face friends\, loved-ones\, and strangers who belittle\, dehumanize\, ignore\, or shut us down whenever we try to explain. Those who know little to nothing about gender will put their own world views over those of a multitude of experts – even to the point of attempting to erase and entire people group. \nAt a time when educating society on this important topic is at an all-time high\, the resistance we face is not only maddening\, it is downright traumatizing. In this training\, you will learn the actual (and abundant) science behind gender development.\nYou will learn to differentiate clearly between sex\, gender\, and orientation and how to articulate it all in a concise and coherent way. \nAND… \nYou will also learn the biology that underlies the resistance LGBTQIA+ people face when attempting to explain themselves. You will gain a new understanding of what is happening inside “the other side” so you or your clients can manage your own nervous system activation during these difficult discussions. Practical techniques will be added to this new understanding to help with emotion regulation and staying empowered. \nObjectives: \n\n1. List and describe the science of gender development and how it differs from sex\,\norientation\, and other aspects of identity\n2. Identify the neurobiological regions in the brain and body responsible for distortions\,\nimplicit bias\, and other psychological resistances\n3. Explain the neurobiological mechanisms of resistance with the aim of helping clients to\nmanage their own activation during difficult discussions\n4. Apply practical\, evidence-based techniques to manage activation and empower more\naccurate storytelling during difficult conversations\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Law & Ethics CEs!\nEthical Assessment in Early Childhood Mental Health and Development\nPresented by: Kristie Baber\, MSW\, LICSW\, CCTP\nWhen: Thursday\, June 18th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credits: 6 Law and Ethics CEs | $190.00 \nThis clinical workshop teaches assessment skills\, tools\, and diagnostics to providers engaging with young children. What does depression look like in an infant? Can you attribute a developmental delay to the environment? How is recognizing an attachment pattern valuable to an overall assessment? When is it a typical developmental stage and when is it pathology? We’ll discuss these topics and more – as well as diagnostic and standardized tools to help in our work. We will particularly focus on at-risk populations and the impacts of abuse\, neglect\, and transgenerational issues. Teaching modalities will include a mix of clinical discussion\, lecture\, videos\, case examples\, and group exercises. \nIn response to new legislation in Washington state\, HB 1325\, this class will equip clinicians to utilize the DC:0-5 for diagnosing children and address the new requirement that “Requires clinicians to use the developmentally appropriate standard of practice for diagnosing children 0-5\, the Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood (DC:0-5)\, rather than the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.” ** (effective as of 7/25/21) \nObjectives: \n\nExplore components of an ethical assessment process for young children in therapy (supported by WA HB 1325 requiring the Health Care Authority to provide reimbursement for up to five sessions of mental health intake and assessment of children from birth through age 5 in home and community settings).\nDiscuss developmental domains and understand the interplay between early childhood mental health and overall development.\nConsider risk factors (including substance exposure) and examine traumatic impacts on early brain development.\nReview attachment and other developmental tasks in the first five years of life\, as well as standardized tools for evaluation.\nUtilize the DC:0-5 (the DSM-5 for little kids) as the appropriate\, ethical standard of practice and to meet the legal requirement for diagnosing for young children.\nShare community resources for concurrent early childhood intervention (focus will be on King County).\n\n** HB 1325: Implementing policies related to children and youth behavioral health | Partners for Our Children \n**Washington State Legislature \nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕BRAND-NEW! Lunch & Learn: Threat Analysis: Improving Self-Regulation with Practical Brain Science 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nLunch & Learn: Threat Analysis: Improving Self-Regulation with Practical Brain Science\nPresented by: Hannah Smith\, MA\, LMHC\, CGP\nWhen: Monday\, July 20th\, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM\, Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\n\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 1.5 CEs | $25.00\nYou will be hard-pressed to find a client in therapy that does not deal with anxiety\, and we all know the rate of people going to therapy for trauma treatment has been significant for some time. \nThen\, we have neurodivergent people who have steadily activated nervous systems we often diagnose as anxiety disorders\, especially social anxiety. \nIn any case\, the results of dysregulation can be destabilizing\, making people feel as if they are under threat\, which could lead to relational issues or cause them to miss out on their lives. \nBut what if it didn’t have to be this way? \nWith advances in our understanding of modern neuroscience and within the framework of Interpersonal Neurobiology\, we now recognize that there are two major neural pathways to nervous system activation\, each indicating a different type of threat. The key is to learn to detect the type of activation occurring and to respond appropriately to each. \nIn this session\, you will learn the science behind these two paths to dysregulation and an easy method to help show clients so they\, too\, can choose the right set of responses to whatever “present moment” situation they find themselves in\, resulting in more effective responses and less overall fear and activation. \nImagine!  A reduction in general\, separation\, and social anxiety! Improved outcomes in trauma when it’s not exacerbated by ongoing fear responses.  If you want to contribute to these outcomes\, this will be an hour well spent! \nWORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:\n\nIdentify and describe the neuro-biological systems involved in nervous system dysregulation\nExplain the two paths to activation\, why they occur\, and the appropriate responses to each\nApply a method to help clients tell the difference between the two paths so they have more buy-in for doing the work of self-regulation\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n

SUMMARY:🆕 BRAND-NEW! Ethics of Somatic Therapies: Boundaries\, Consent\, and Scope of Practice 🆕
DESCRIPTION:Brand-New!\nMeets Professional Roles & Boundaries or Law & Ethics CE requirements!\nEthics of Somatic Therapies: Boundaries\, Consent\, and Scope of Practice\nPresented by: Dreya Blume\, LCSW\nWhen: Monday\, Septemer 28th\, 2026 | 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 3 CEs – counts as Professional Roles & Boundaries or Law & Ethics CEs | $99.00\nSomatic therapies are increasingly integrated into psychotherapy as clinicians seek ways to address trauma\, stress\, and emotional regulation through the body. However\, incorporating body-based interventions raises important ethical questions related to professional boundaries\, informed consent\, cultural sensitivity\, and the scope of practice. \nThis continuing education workshop explores the ethical use of somatic approaches within psychotherapy\, helping clinicians thoughtfully integrate body-oriented techniques while remaining aligned with professional standards of care. Together\, we will examine common ethical dilemmas that arise when working with breath\, movement\, grounding exercises\, and other somatic practices\, particularly regarding touch\, power dynamics\, trauma sensitivity\, and client autonomy. \nThe workshop will provide practical guidance for obtaining meaningful informed consent\, documenting somatic interventions\, and recognizing when referrals or additional training are necessary. Through case examples\, reflective discussion\, and ethical decision-making frameworks\, clinicians will strengthen their ability to incorporate somatic awareness into therapy while protecting client safety and maintaining clear professional boundaries. \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nDefine key ethical considerations involved in integrating somatic therapies into psychotherapy\, including issues related to boundaries\, consent\, and scope of practice.\nIdentify potential ethical risks and clinical dilemmas that may arise when using body-based interventions such as breathwork\, grounding exercises\, or movement practices.\nDescribe best practices for obtaining informed consent and maintaining clear therapeutic boundaries when incorporating somatic techniques into clinical work.\nApply ethical decision-making frameworks to determine when somatic interventions are appropriate within a clinician’s scope of practice and when consultation\, referral\, or additional training may be necessary.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:A Lifetime of Loss: Integrating Heartache and Grief in Adult & Pediatric Clients
DESCRIPTION:A Lifetime of Loss: Integrating Heartache and Grief in Adult & Pediatric Clients\nPresented by: Kristie Baber\, MSW\, LICSW\, CCTP\nWhen: Thursday\, October 8th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the event.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours (NBCC and NASW-WA Approved): 6 CEs | $190.00 \nFrom floating goldfish to the truncated relationships of divorce and foster care\, losses start early for us. This continuing education workshop will explore the universal experience of grief – the process that attempts to recover meaning following a loss (Brown\, 2021) – and the myriad ways in which it can go awry. \nThe wounds of childhood compound as we age and inevitably experience further losses\, each echoing the initial pain. In a realistic and lighthearted way\, we will address the reality of impermanence and our lifelong effort to adjust. From treating acute grief in childhood to the manifestation of unresolved loss in our adult clients\, this class will explore the ways therapists can help integrate the hurts of a lifetime. \nThis class is designed for practicing therapists with clients of all ages. The workshop will be conducted in a Zoom format\, and teaching modalities will include a mix of clinical discussion\, lecture with clinical examples & video illustrations\, as well as individual/group case exercises. \nWORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:\n\nHonoring the complexity of human relationships and experiences\, recognize that death is only one manifestation of the loss people endure.\nUnderstand the neuropsychological basis for traumatic loss experiences in childhood persisting throughout the lifespan into adulthood and affecting our clients long after the event occurred.\nIdentify prolonged grief disorder (a.k.a. complicated grief or traumatic grief) as well as symbolic loss\, disenfranchised grief\, and ambiguous loss.\nRecognize how children’s\, tweens’ & teens’ understanding of death and reaction to loss differs from the presentation of adults; as well as interpret behavioral patterns at different developmental stages.\nImplement therapeutic interventions for adults\, including Worden’s TEAR model and Shear’s HEALING milestones.\nEstablish a treatment plan for clients experiencing grief & loss and explore developmentally appropriate therapeutic tools and activities.\nAccess provided references and resources for further study.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n
