SUMMARY:SPECIAL SALE! Directive Play Therapy for Struggling Children
DESCRIPTION:Last-Minute Deal! $50 Off!\nDirective Play Therapy for Struggling Children\nPresented by: Kristie Baber\, MSW\, LICSW\, CCTP\nWhen: Thursday\, April 16th\, 2026 | 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time\nWhere: Live on Zoom. You will receive your Zoom link/invitation the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 CEs | $190.00 NOW ONLY $140.00!\nVirginia Axline has told us that\, “Play is the primary and natural medium of communication for children” (1947) and that therapists can provide the opportunity for kids to express their emotions and process their experiences. However\, those of us who work with distressed or traumatized children know that sometimes we need to do more than that. \nThis is a single-day clinical workshop designed to answer the question child therapists ask\, “Yes\, but how exactly do I do that in session?”  This workshop will be focused on the detailed\, how-to of directive play therapy with children. We will discuss the clinical frame – from setting up an office to addressing behavioral problems in session – as well as effective interventions within it. \nDirective play therapy can be utilized to promote healing from traumatic events\, facilitate the expression of emotions\, develop more secure attachment patterns\, introduce new ways of thinking and behaving\, learn problem-solving skills\, improve social and communication skills\, and support regulation. \nThis class will give practicing therapists\, child welfare professionals\, and other pediatric providers working with children aged 0-11 practical tools and ideas to leverage therapeutic change. The workshop will be conducted in a Zoom format.  \nTeaching modalities will include a mix of clinical discussion\, lectures with clinical examples & video illustrations\, and individual/group case exercises. (Please note:  Workshop will cover clinical applications and interventions for children\, not forensic assessment of play for evaluation purposes.) \nObjectives:\n\nExplore the brain development\, memory systems\, attachment needs\, and trauma impacts that influence our baseline neurobiology and a child’s capacity for therapeutic growth.\nUnderstand the distinction between directive and non-directive play therapy and the clinical applications for both with children.\nHaving knowledge of the therapeutic frame\, learn to set daily treatment plans and establish the structure of a child’s session.\nConsider different categories of play useful for addressing various treatment goals.\nExplore options of therapeutic toys\, games\, and crafts with examples of their use in sessions.\nAccess provided references and resources for further study.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:SPECIAL SALE! Dream Work for Deepening Clinical Outcomes
DESCRIPTION:Last-Minute Deal! $50 Off!\nDream Work for Deepening Clinical Outcomes\nPresented by: Becky Robbins\, MA\, LMHC\, CEAT\, CYT\, NBT \nWhen: Friday\, April 17\, 2026 | 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM\, Pacific Time\nWhere: Live online via Zoom. You’ll receive the Zoom link the week of the workshop.\nContinuing Education Credit Hours: 6 CEs | $190.00 NOW ONLY $140.00!\nThis fundamentals workshop provides a strong\, basic understanding of the necessary aspects of working with dreams in a clinical setting. The instructor utilizes integrated theoretical models of working with dreams\, including cognitive-experiential\, expressive arts\, and nature-based dream work models\, to explore the benefits of doing dream work with clients. \nThe purpose of this workshop is to introduce the context\, foundations\, benefits\, and ethics of engaging in dream work in therapy sessions with clients\, as well as to provide experiential exercises for “hands-on” learning that can be implemented immediately. Support material from Clara Hill’s work\, “cognitive-experiential dream model” highlight the value of dream work in deepening outcomes with clients. This workshop will also introduce participants to working with clients’ significant dreams\, grief/loss-related dreams\, and trauma-related dreams with tenderness and through the clinical lens. \nThis session provides a good foundation for understanding the theories involved in working with the unconscious—aka dreams—as it provides a multi-modal\, cooperative learning experience to reinforce the ideas presented.  The instructor will make clear the benefits of doing therapeutic dream work using an integrated model. Participants will explore the ways in which the various approaches complement each other and are appropriate for a wide range of clients\, including those clients who are remembering\, working through\, and healing grief\, loss\, and traumatic experiences. This session also considers ethical\, legal\, and documentation topics related to dream work in the clinical setting. \nWORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:\n\n Explain the difference between “dream interpretation” and “dream work” and why the latter is what we do in therapy\n “Light” foundations of dream work\n Name individuals in our field who influence today’s workshop content\, models\, approaches\n Understand how to introduce and use dream work in the clinical/ therapeutic setting\, shifts from “Freudian” ways to multi-theoretical\n Explain how our unconscious speaks through our dreams so that important information stored in our bodies and memories can come forth and become conscious\, possible demo\n Identify how dream work enhances one’s practice\n Identify parts of dreams with examples of when they might come up in therapy\n Understand how to utilize several dream work approaches from a range of exploratory\, expressive\, and nature-based theorists\n Provide examples of appropriate application of each approach including that the client has the last word\n View a live demonstration of dream work demo (recorded/link or live/volunteer)\n Explore and practice techniques for doing dream work that can be used immediately\, through demonstrations and “hands-on” experientials in this workshop\n Learn how to become a better container for working with your clients’ dreams through self-empowerment\, self-care\, self-regulation\, and protective practice when working with dreams\, especially with dream content related to grief\, loss\, phobias\, and trauma\n Consider legal\, ethical\, and documentation implications for doing dream work\, especially with survivors of trauma (such as a dream that recalls repressed childhood abuse) and those experiencing grief and loss\, as well as social and environmental impacts (such as dynamics of power and privilege) of dream content in client’s waking life\n\nREGISTER HERE\n  \n
